question i have about this build ( i actually used it around a month ago to clear act 1, obviously didnt work for act 2 with pretty crap dps and before nerf) is how to handle act 3 without ton of defensive stats?
act 3 is very specific to other acts in the fact that there are a lot of ranged mobs (you will rarely find a ground of whites without a lot of ranged in it) and the fact that the path to Siegebreaker and then onto Azmodan doesnt really give a lot of room to kite around
edit: also: phasebeasts, worse than soul rippers imo because they are usually surounded by those ranged succubus
OP obviously overgear it a lot but for us mortals i just dont see it working past "blow your cooldowns and hope to kill something before you die" and then repeat, sounds more boring than tank build
I bought a 1400+ dps 2 hander for this build with 1300 life on kill (10 million).....and ohhh my god is this strong. A single seismic slam can bring me all the way back to 100% life on a large amount of mobs......this build has serious damage output. Instead of bash I use Frenzy with Maniac however. Post 1.0.3 this build is very viable.
Do you think the requirements have been lowered (dps/resist) wise to thoroughly and easily farm A3?
Definitely. I've done Act III up to Siegebreaker (and Arreat Crater Level 1, though the difficulty goes up after Siegebreaker) since the patch with this build, whereas I was having trouble starting Act III with a tank build pre-patch.
My stats (Totally unbuffed. Only skills):
It is easier to experiment 2h due to harsh prices of 1h weapons in AH. I tried different affixes on 2H and found out crit damage scales pretty well, currently at 209% inc with passives. Weapon speed isn't much an issue as my barb basically sprint tornado and furious charging everything. My sword and board has already started to collect dust.
