Runed (Thrive of Chaos)
Every 25 Fury gained = +1 second on WotB
Skill Setup
Generate more than 25 fury per second in order to keep WotB up 24/7
Skills:
[1] Wrath of the Berserker [2] Cleave (Reaping Swing), generates 5 Fury + 3 for each enemy hit [3] Bash (Instigation): 6 Fury + 6 Fury [4] Ancient Spear (Skirmish): 15 Fury + 15 Fury [5] Warcry (Charge!): 30 Fury + 30 Fury [6] Revenge (Vengeance is mine): Heal 5% for each enemy hit + Heal for 8% and gain 5 Fury for each enemy hit.
Passives: [1] Weapon Master; Mighty Weapons give +3 Fury per hit [2] Berseker Rage; +25% damage when at max Fury. [3] Nerves of Steel; 100% of Vitality to Armor, Improves survivabillity.
Calculations
Multiple Targets: Avarage of hitting 3 targets, Keep the weapon speeds in mind! Currently the 1 handed weapons on Diablo3.com show a weapon speed of ~1,4 attacks per second. If I understand correctly that you cleave alternates the weapon. Otherwise its ~2,8 cleaves per second. Increased with attack speed you can easilly reach 2 or 3,5 cleaves per second. Lets avarage out at 2 cleaves per second.
Cleave: 5 + 3x3(Cleave runed), + 3x3 (Weapon master) = 23 Fury each Cleave = + 0,92 Seconds per Cleave 2 * 0,92 = 1.84 Seconds added per second to your Wotb when spamming Cleave.
Single Target: Keep the weapon speeds in mind!
Bash: 12(Bash) + 3 (Weapon master) = 15 Fury each Bash = + 0,6 Seconds per Bash
2 * 0,6 = 1,2 Seconds added per second to your WotB when spamming Bash.
Ancient Spear (10 seconds cooldown): 15 + 15 Fury = 30 Fury per Ancient Spear = + 1,2 Seconds
Gear
-For this build you will be eating a lot of hits as barbarian. Preferebly you will need vitality (=armor through passive) and attack speed (=more attacks, thus more Fury)
-It is also prefereble to have fast hitting weapons, such as 2x 1 Handed Mighty Weapons.You will benefit greatly from the [passive] Weapon Master Fury regeneration.
[Edited] Added Notes
- You might go for [passive] Anymosity, which increases your Fury regeneration when you can't keep up Wrath of the Berserker.
- Ancient spear is a gap closer between groups of mobs. While gaining additional Fury, and being able to smash things again faster.
- Warcry, it increases your defensive capabilities for one. On the other hand, while running in between groups you will get some additional seconds on WotB
- As some have said, you might not regenerate Fury when capped. In this case I would use Scyldragons' suggestion and go for Weapon Throw (Dread Bomb) instead of Revenge
Ofcourse this isn't "THE BEST" dps build out there, but hey this is not an MMO. This is Diablo 3, where a viable build is a good build.
Effectiveness * Fun = Viable build (atleast for me)
In this case the effectiveness is mediocre (or perhaps the WotB stat gains are underestimated) while i inmagine being a Super Saiyan 24/7 will be amazing. Resulting in a score of "OK TO GO" on my viable build meter
yeah i'd go for battle rage instead of ancient spear. +15 fury chance on crit. Also, since your gonna get hit alot i'd probably use some sort of life leach to regen health. maybe something like this
You'd get to use basic Cleave and basic Bash amplified with a little bit of crit and a little bigger bit of haste and sacrifice many, many damage options for that. Not doing any math now, but Cleave-Broad Sweep on it's very own might outdamage this whole build.
This is a way better template than what you've concocted. With Bash, WOTB and dual-wielding you gain approximately 25 fury each second if you're constantly attacking something. Stacking up a lot of crit allows Into the Fray to boost you over the edge, allowing you to have some down-time in between mobs, although it's deifinitely more useful to use on bosses or where you get to bash constantly. Also, Dead Bomb is the perfect move to AoE nuke irritating mobs with all that excess fury.
The problem with Ancient Spear, WarCry and Revenge is that you need some time to stop bashing and use them, so you'll technically be dropping some fury from the attack time lost, thus not really benefitting that much from them. Into the Fray on the other hand...

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t...
Fun? God forbid not being 100% effective and making a fun build instead. I for one would enjoy it.
Fun is always the goal in a game. But what are you actually enjoying playing this game and how does this build amplify it? What separates it from any build with any six skills?
So, you can Cleave at mobs, you can Bash them and that's supposed to be fun. It actually is, I can tell that much from the beta. But why all this drama? Wrath of the Berserker really isn't that big, it has a cool name and some pvp functionality. We could as well craft builds around Sprint.
If it was only to pass the time 'til release, however, I'd really appreciate that
So my build is called the super saiyan for one simple reason. DO NOT LET WRATH OF THE BERSERK fall off.
The main 2 attacks will be Cleave(reaping swing) to add fury quickly and Frenzy(Relentless)
THE IDEA:
the basic concept is to maintain your power level over 9000. What issue are against you in this is mainly time. were not clear on how the higher levels of thew game will look from packs of mobs to packs of other mobs but i made this build to best shorten that issue.
SPRINT(marathon):
it has no Cooldown and will be your best rage dump. just keep spamming it and you'll always be ready to receive rage and increase the WotB timer. Stay over 9000!
Frenzy(relentless):
this move puts you into super saiyan 2 and beyond, while its up there is another 15% increased movement speed. so just keep the truck, trucking and hunt down those monsters
Cleave(reaping swing):
best fury builder you can take. no questions asked.
War cry(charge!):
Good survivability with armor and the charge glyph grants you increased fury AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! stay over 9000!!!
Battle rage(marauder's rage):
this one is simple, everyone knows once you enter that super saiyan form your power is boosted even higher and damage is what you'll need to kill and progress.
WRATH OF THE SUPER SAIYAN.......i mean BERSERK!(thrive on chaos):
crit:10%, attack speed:25%, dodge:20%, and MORE movement speed:20% with the glyph every 25 fury gains you 1 more second in super saiyan heaven.
PASSIVE SKILLS: Animosity: increasing the amount of fury you get and the maximum is very important, you want the greatest chance to pull in fury for that time your on at all coast. Boon of bul-kathos: wotb's cool down is too damn long! Just too freaking long, god forbid you do fall below 9000 your going to need a forgiving mechanic from that failure, this will give you 30 seconds back. Unforgiving:this one got me going with the always generating fury. i'm a little concerned about its mechanic and how it my exactly will work but if it fails like in my worst case scenario replace with (weapons master), if not 1 second = 25 fury = 50 seconds, time flys so will you when you spam sprint(20 fury)
This was the same build i was thinking back when they did the build contest and i entered with it. Although i took it as a joke i'm seriously going to use this build come the 15th. I took mobility over everything else with life-steal as your second priority then Stack health.

And I'd probably take Battle Rage - Into the Fray in there somewhere.
You only have one passive for defence. You will get smahsed
Btw.
All WOTB builds usualy go for Frenzy orianted builds.

you need a better rage dump. Rend isnt that good. either a few war cries or hammer of the ancients. maybe even Sprint spam.
