Let's play a little game then. I will keep challenging you guys to build something sort of peculiar. The first challenge is:
1. Creat a barbarian build that you think cam beat Inferno or can be used in HC.
2. One of his six active skill must be Sprint.
3. You must prove that Sprint is a optimal choice in that build. It must be there for a reason besides winning this challenge !
I think Sprint is the most undersued skill of the game D: Let's change that ! I've made my build but i will only post it later on ! Let's see what everyone come up with...
Not sure how good this would be for HC, but you would basically just run around with enemies slowed. 60% + 16% movement speed from sprint + frenzy, and -56% movement speed to enemies with threatening shout. And just run around using ancient spear and weapon throw for additional slows. Also you would confuse enemies with the alabaster rune on weapon throw and the enchantress ability.
I'm confused about whether there are throwing spears in D3 because under "ranged" all I see is bows/crossbows/wands. Frenzy would have to work with a ranged weapon of some kind for this build...
Have the rune set up for dodge on 3 abilities, if you keep them all up thats 77% Dodge, the rest of the abilities are to maintain the rage required, not die if you are hit, and to generate some life back that is lost.
Most stats probably won't work like that in D3, where you just add the percentages together. I think it's more like this maybe (edited for bad math).
I guess it's more like this (1 - .45) x (1 - .16) x (1 - .16)
So .55x.84x.84 = .39 (chance to hit). Then (1 - .39) = .61 chance to dodge.
And with mantra of evasion: (1 - .45) x (1 - .16) x (1 - .16) x (1 - .25)
Or .55x.84x.84x.75 = .29 (chance to hit). Then (1 - .29) = .71 chance to dodge.
I guess that's how it works... lol
Another example is if you had dodge sources like the following... you see it's better to have a smaller number of high dodge percentages vs a higher number of low dodge percentages.
hmmm... Fury? I know you are generating fury with the passive and sometimes when you crit with weapon throw. But other than that you have 10 and 30 sec CD on your 2 generators.
I was cancerned about it too. Though it's hard to say without testing it in game, i think it can work well with decent crit chance and some +fury_gen on few items.
If not, i'd switch Battle Rage or War Cry (depending on survivability at that moment) to Furious Charge. Prolly with Golden Rune for more Fury. It will be kinda nice with one more running ability. Or to ground stomp with Golden/Obsidian.
But still, it may probably work as it is.
Upd0: it's just that sprint is more of PvP skill. With any melee barb in PvE Leap and/or Furious Charge are better and more than enough. And, as i understand, OP meant PvE build. So Throw barb is the only choice. It works great with Obsidian Rune - when few enemies come close, u just cast Sprint to kite, at the same time dealing some damge on the start. Leap and Charge are worse for kiting, coz they intend to hit enemies, not run away from them.
Upd1: btw, fury management + the fact that's it pure ranged barb is what make this build really interesting for me. Though i'll probably stick with frenzy or tankish one... Been working on them for a while.
Knockback Barb. Basically this is just an incredibly disruptive barb. Sprinting through the melee creeps to reach the weaker ranged ones, using Threatening Shout to collect aggro back, continuing to knock enemies back and just cause general disruption. This build would work well with ranged heroes so they can continue attacking the creeps as they get flung around the battlefield.

I would use the enchantress if she could stay alive consistently for the attack speed + projectile reflect buffs in addition to confuse.

50%+50%+50%= 87.5% chance to dodge
20%+20%+20%+20%+20%+20%= 73.7% chance to dodge
70%+70%= 91.0% chance to dodge
Cba describing build, it should be pretty clear.
