so for fun I thought of building a tank barb that basically takes no damage, buffs his team, and has good CC so the baddies are focused on him and not his squishy friends!
So I guess I'll break it down for you and say why I used these skills.
Leap Attack-Crimson Runestone
My reasoning, engage the enemy. Be the first one in at all times. You are here to take all the focus so your casters/ranged/dps friends can sweep the playground with zombie debris. Crimson Runestone makes sure all the monsters are looking at you.
Cleave-Alabaster
MOAR DAMAGE! and since you are in the middle of stuff the more you kill with this skill (runestoned) the better, MOAR DEATH!
War Cry-Crimson Runestone
MOAR ARMOR!!!!!!! more armor=less damage <----reason for Crimson.
Treatening Shout-Crimson Runestone
Enemies do reduced damage, now why would that be a good idea.... Crimson Runestone for the Taunt! we all know a good tank should be taunting his foes into focusing in on him. (and I am not a WoW player, fyi)
Seismic Slam-Obsidian Runestone
Some damage! yay! you should have lots of Fury saved up so you can spam this a little. Obsidian for the 100% chance to stun enemies for 3 seconds! -
60% of the time, it works all the time...
.
Note- The downside to this is could be the knockback (sometimes it could actually be a blessing)...now I am not sure about the runestones at the moment so I don't know if the runestone replaces the damage and knockback and all you get is a stun, or if you get the damage knockback and the stun on top of it.
Frenzy- Golden Runestone
Time to deal some damage!! Golden for increased CC
Note- I was on the edge for this one, I thought about Ignore Pain with Golden runestone, but with his other skills and passives, he would be taking such low damage anyway, why not make some!
Passives Superstitionand Tough as Nails
These two for obvious tanking reasons!
Juggernaut
The more time spent CC'd the less time spent tanking!! OR Brawler
You are a tank, so obviously there will be 5 enemies close by, there-to-for, increased damage!
Edit: I hit submit post rather than preview post by accident so I was only like half finished haha. Edit2: Replaced Ancient Spear w/ Indigo Runestone with Cleave w/ Alabaster runestone. I already had a skill that pulled enemies in, so 2 skills doing so was redundant. Also I added Brawler Passive as an alternative to Juggernaut, because there may or may not be much CC in PvM so Juggernaut may not be usefull.
Based on your style of the build why have ancient spear when you can leap into the enemies anyways? Try replacing it with ground stomp to stun the enemies when you jump in or cleave for aoe. Unless you plan on leaping into enemies then pulling more in then I can see having it.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.

well it's for those monsters that escape the taunt and are running towards your teamates, grapple them back into you!
I don't think Juggernaut will do you as much good as you may be thinking. That passive looks extremely pvp to me as for why they put a pvp skill in a game they said they would not be balancing for pvp I cannot say. I do however doubt you'll be encountering a great deal of CC from the standard pve game.
I would say replace Juggernaut with either Inspiring Presence or Relentless.

True but if you teammates can't handle a few stragglers your in for some issues.
haha that is true, I will look at it and maybe find one that will fit the build.

That could be true, but we have only seen the first bit of the game, so we don't know what kind of CC the monsters may have in later acts or even later difficulties...I am kinda hoping they do add a little CC in from monsters, just to add a bit of an extra danger to the depths of hell...When I play when I'm lvl 60 I hope to be shitting myself in Inferno from how tough it is...but before we do find out, yes it does seem to be a pvp style skill. I will add an alternate for Juggernaut, Thanks for the input!
I don't understand having Golden Frenzy + Cleave. You already have a reliable stun, so the unreliable stun of Frenzy is kinda odd...and you claim you wana be spamming cleave...so where's the time for Frenzy?
Also, as a tank you're probably 1handing it, so cleave damage will be lower overall, and killing enemies with a team lobbing big arse spells into your surrounding pile will lead to few kills to proc Alabaster effect.
I'd say to either drop one of these skills for another utility (Revenge, Ignore Pain, or Ground Stomp) and swap the other to Indigo (Cleave) to stack mobs better (Frenzy) for added incidental AoE damage, or Crimson (Frenzy) to increase your overall damage output.
Furthermore, Alabaster is superior to Crimson war cry IMO...armor does little for spell damage and you will take some of that. Superstition is nice, but health works for ALL damage overall. Also, you should take Inspiring Presence over Brawler, this will synergize with the extra health from Alabaster War Cry nicely.
You can easily make up the damage from Brawler with a 5 stack crimson Frenzy (120% damage) and stun crap a ton with Seismic Smash (reliably) still.
Don't mix to much between dmg and armor bonus / stuff. Inferno will be hard, the barb will be the ultimate tank, will need lots of hps/hps regens/life stolen/...

Looks better based off your build...imo of course
