yup, too many passive skills, a lot of these things could at least be turned into war cry's or something, why not add passive attack skill, passive run around and loot things, passive sell items and everything else while were at it.
we dont need the game to play itself for us, comon now.
maybe this is true for some of the other character trees as well? I dont know, id have to look again.
If you are talking about the current skill trees, well be at ease because in Blizzcon everything we know about skills in D3 will change.
The passive skills are there to boost active skills. Since they said they dont want people to focus on just one skill, so they wont do it so you'd have to max all the passives that boosts this certain skill to make it actually worth it.
It's stated since the begning that the character will use around 6 active skills. If every passive had to be active "version" our skill bars would have like 10+ skills i guess.
Passives are there to further customise your character w/o taking alot of keys. It somewhat replaces stats (since they are automatic now).
I don't have an issue with this. No point in having loads of actives if you are not going to use them, anyway, while passives are easier to utilize for multiple builds. Passives can develop a variety in active skills without actually adding active skills.

exactly. and the way runes will work now will also add alot customization and different effects on the active skills aswell.
I hope they keep a ton of traits because I would rather not have cookie cutter builds all having the same ones, atleast for a bit because there will be a best damage/tank/pvp skill/trait sets
