I think there should be more defensive skills for the battle master tree and more group buffs.
There is not even a single skill that increases passive block chance, and only 1 skill that is even related to blocking(although it is freaking awesome).
I want to start playing D3 is 1h+shield with many points in the battle master tree and a few points allocated elsewhere, and I think the battle master tree is lacking compared to the other trees, as far as defensive, tanking, and group support role.
What do you guys think?

Also, I think a battle master spec barbarian with a shield should be the HARDEST class to kill out of ALL the classes, and at the same time have the greatest potential for solo game play more so than any other class.(assuming equivalent skill level)

Yeh... The Battlemster tree are totally lacking and looks "empty" in comparison to other barbarian's trees. This tree have only one really cool signature skill (Charge). Also, imo, the barbarian lacks a defensive Active Skill.
Basically I think a battle master spec barbarian should take the least damage, have the most health, have the most defense and in that sense be the class that is hardest to kill.
Sure it will probably do less damage than the other specs, but that is expected. The damage lack should be noticeably compensated for toughness.
they also really got to add passive skills all i saw when i look at skills trees are just spells and skills and spend more points and that skill/spell is upgraded no passive skills...
Blizzard are only making dps classes, I think that applies to the skilltrees too. Making character unequal in solo gameplay would completely fuck up balance.
"The damage lack should be noticeably compensated for toughness. "
This is the part I am concerned about. There are no skills for the shield other than retaliate which is an offensive passive ability that procs when a block is made.
There needs to be passives like:
Increase block chance by x%
When equipping a shield increases defense by x%
Either that or make shields in general REALLY REALLY good
If you want an active defense skill, you should play the Monk
I think it's only fair that there's also a melee characters that has passive defenses instead for the people that would rather play that way.
.. Maybe the lack of shield skills in the Battlemaster means the unanounced fifth class will be more of a shield specialist than the Barbarian?
But there is a greater lack of a ranged DPS class....

If ppl want to play that way they are free to ignore the active one and invest in passives.
I would never play a build like that though. Thats why i really wnat the barb have some fun defence mechanism...
I wouldn't call the monk projectile reflection spell purely defensive. It is a defense/offense skill because it sends the projectile flying back. And you can not attack while you are using the skill. It would be pretty hard to turn it on when you see the projectile, but before it hits you.
Yeah it's not purely defensive. But it still works like a active block.

Ranged DPS tanking class??? Don't think so.
