What makes little sence to me is that his breast plate is only on the right (right from the Barbarian's perspective). It would make more sence if it was on the left so it could protect his heart. But other than that it looks cool.
That piece of armor would not cover the heart even if it was in the left side.. thats why i think it was not made to protect the chest's internal organs but his shoulder.
Since his axe are in the left hand the armor are placed only in the right side both because the axe already give some protection and because he need more mobility in the weapon wielding arm.
i was really into the barb at first but i just watched that newish gameplay footage were their are screens side by side one has a guy playin the barb the other a wizard ,the wizards gameplay is so much more visual looks fun =) ....though just slashin the hell outta things is always good

So, based on what I have seen in the released trailers, and screenshots, I think it is pretty safe to say that everything you see in the artwork on the diablo3.com website will probably be in the game. Keeping that in mind, I found this artwork of a barbarian that looks so badass it is not even funny. And this is why I am going to be a barbarian: http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/_images/artwork/ss6-hires.jpg
Bahahah. You're right. That's not even funny. It's awesome!
I'm still waiting on the other classes to have my heart set on one
The fury system isn't really up and lets just say that the current system is experimental. Latelly (during blizzcon 2009) I remember Jay or one of the devs, say that the current fury isn't satisfying and they want to modify it again... to be continued
