There have been some questions about what i call the "superstition build" in some threads here and there, so i thought i could gather it all up in one single thread, and share it would you guys
This is a variant of the standard physical build, suggested by Det0x. This build requires more precise play and a rift guardian who spawns adds in order to function properly.
Gear: WotW Helm, WotW Shoulders, WotW Gloves, WotW Chest, WotW Boots, IK Pants, IK Belt, IK BB, Reaper Wraps, RoRG, Convention of Elements
Skills: WW (Blood Funnel), Rend (Blood Lust), CotA (Together as One), WotB (Insanity), Battle Rage (Swords to Ploughshares), Warcry (Impunity)
Passives: Superstition, Rampage, Ruthless, Nerves of Steel
Gems: Trapped, Pain Enhancer, Taeguk
Final stats w/ all buffs, passives (except Rampage) and 3% IAS from PE active: 10782 Strength, 52% IAS, 61% CHC, 480% CHD, 40% Physical, 30% WW, 30% Rend, 150 Max Fury
Total STDPS: 1,785,592,819.97
% of damage from Dust Devils: 70.29%
% of damage from Rend: 9.90%
% of damage from CotA: 9.58%
% of damage from Pain Enhancer: 5.59%
% of damage from Whirlwind: 4.63%
What iam running now, is a modified version of what i first suggested...
Bloodsheed instead of Swords to Ploughshares.
Weapons Master instead of Ruthless (-9.75% damage on average)
Reaper Wraps ain't needed, as superstition alone is enough sustain your fury vs poison RG's.
Mara's kaleidoscope is required for this build to function
Can clear rifts upto ~57-58 with RG's like Hamelin and Ghom
Above this level you fish solely for StoneSlinger -> Swap out superstition for tough as nails, *bash your head against the wall until you get SS down to 75% health points and he spawns a clone.. (Its only after this you can sustain fury and have max damage output)
(at this hight, a perfect Eye of Etlich amulet with one secondary affixed rerolled to 30%DR on melee would be BIS)
* = Checkout this video if you wanna see how the build behaves when fury starved: http://youtu.be/LlTWj4GMBAE
It will score lower on paper then the original version since no area/bloodsheed damage are included in the math. (Whirlwind Build Damage thread linked above)
But the "bloodsheeding" really speeds up the cleartime until you reach the RG.. A side-effect of this change is that your ancients die much more.. And you will feel much more squishy, since no more mass health globes.
So be ready to play cockeyed, with one eye always on the top left side of the screen
Kill-time improvement vs Ghom is small but noticeable.
Kill-time improvement vs Hamelin is decent.
(compared to the original non bloodsheed superstition build)
Its the other way around.. I think this is one of the tankiest high grift builds there is (50+).. With superstition + Swords to Ploughshares + together as one you can take goodly amounts of punishment.

i was quite interested in this, and watched several of your videos, but with this build there are some situations when barb left without of fury -> it cant ww-> it looses 40% reduction, looses heal. Looks too risky, but ill try it my self when eu servers will up, thx anyway!
With no fury issues doing the single target you mention in the op the fight is roughly 7min 42 seconds for that rg in particular. Get the fury figured out and its gg, best of luck mon.
The ess of Johan... Only that I could figure out. But since the proc rate is not that great I dont see those being best i slot. But who knows , det0x must have a good enough reason.
Think it has 20 secs internal cooldown. Not sure if its lowered in 2.2... But if its 20 secs that means 5 of those, pulled enemies are gonna take 25% more dmg form his strongarms... Thats 25% of time so its 1/4 of time it will be up so that makes strongarms give 25/4 % more dmg overall which is 6.25%..
The only other thing I could think of is if Madawc (one of the ancients) uses seismic slam with Shattered Ground rune to knock those back which i highly doubt.
Ahh and templars "guardian" ability which knockback enemies. So that all may make it around 10% more dmg ...
I used a pair of strongarms.. Just in-case i got a speed pylon and/or Ess of Johan + templar knockback + ancient charge
I understand most people would go for Lacunis, but i don't think that extra IAS is such a big deal.. I rather prefer to snapshot my APS myself.. Basically every time you rend, you snapshot. (6% IAS is only 2 extra monsters bleeding)
It don't matter that much, just make sure bracers you are using have good rolls..

I have a question (noob question, but I'm a noob with the barb class) do ww break points have a cap? What I mean is there a point where you no longer get benefit from aps in relation to break points, or does it continue to boost ww/nato ticks regardless? Haven't found a solid answer on that yet, but I probably need to go and re read Page/Nubtaro et al again.

One video showing the old non bloodsheed superstition build in action vs a level 56 greater rift:
Diablo 3 RoS: Greater rift 56 completed with experimental high grift build @ https://youtu.be/xHJqGy0HoFY
After i recorded this run, i have only been fishing for 59-60 runs, something i still haven't managed to finish. But its only a matter of time.
So wish me luck
i read all this and the threads you posted... looks fun and interesting, but soo squishy, its sad i cant use any of it on hc! But thanks for sharing

mmmm dat bloodsheeding
Det0x, do you proc in a way the strongarm bracers? I could not figure it out.

You play with resource cost reduction removed from paragons?
