Hey guys, today I'm starting my solo greater rift Barbarian progression series. Although G33 is a cakewalk for Raekor Barb (cleared it first try in 6 minutes), this is where I left off when I last did a greater rift in the previous patch, so I figured I'd go tier by tier as it will help me learn and optimize my gear and skills (the build will change per tier as necessary). Hey guys, today I move on to tier 34 and it's not much harder although I am still a noob at Raekors by this point. Rakanoth 1-shots me with his teleport, but it's still a sub-7 minute clear. Enjoy and be on the lookout for G35!

You should do a really quick show of your build / items at the end so we can see what you change as you progress. Might be more beneficial.

I am doing this in the next videos coming, I actually forgot to do it in the first 2-3.

I prefer string of ears + warcry over cassius pride. I have no probs with raka (highest ive faced him is 41). You can also use your charge to interupt his cast when he does the hands thing.

Interesting, how is your damage reduction with String over Cassius? Do you still take IP? IIRC a lot of elite affixes are also considered melee so it does reduce damage from those as well (everything in game is melee or ranged). Asking because I don't have enough CDR to have 100% uptime on IP but I do have a perfect SoE.

I really didnt like the cassius belt (good rolls but only 4sec ip), i kept dying. Cassius = ip, ears = warcry, swap the skill based on your belt choice. Just felt like a lot less damage with the ears and didnt have to manage the cd since its always up.



Im at the point now where i can can always clear a 42 (no matter the rg) and can probably do a 44 if i get a poison boss at the end. Failed on a few 43's by a few secs but getting like Rime and other teleporters who stand in their own mess. Its all rng now, shrines next to the boss or an easy boss. D3hud would really help as well to locate shrines instead of randomly running around at 99% looking for one (costing time because i never find one).



Frenzy is still out best choice for rift guardians, maybe drop your soj and get a bk ring. it does .4% of the rg's hp twice a sec. it caps out at 3000% wep damage (takes the lower number 3000 or .4%) But you get like 30mil ticks twice a sec.

Did it change in 2.12 or was the video i watched wrong? Thanks for the info.



First run of the day i cleared a 43 with 5mins left (stoneslinger). Im getting better at leaving almost dead packs and yellow bosses. Seems to be part of the learning curve.

Grats on a 49 sirio, I think thats the highest ive seen since patch. If you would of gotten raziel would you fight him or just quit? He wrecks me when he gets around 30% hp, even on 42

Grats on 49, that Ancient Furnace though! Don't think it's possible without it. How do Ancients do at that tier?

Hey guys, today I move on to tier 36, clearing it in under 9 minutes. Still fairly straightforward and this is a tier I may speed farm later, though I do end up facing Rakanoth AGAIN, along with a bugged elite pack. I'm not sure why, but I've noticed in a lot of grifts there are mobs left over after the spawn. Enjoy!

They're more stable (less ddos), ish, but there's a lot of lag lately, ever since 2.1.2 actually. I see it in a lot of my videos. I cleared 41 actually, working on 42 but lag on Raekor Barb is the worst because you miss your charges. I just can't do HC with all the latency issues I've seen with blizz over the years (I played wow since beta and the first release was HORRIBLE).

Hey guys, today I move on to tier 37, clearing it easily in 7 minutes. The last few rifts I was using 'basic' bracers - total oversight on my part. While I still don't have Ancient Parthan Defenders, my fire Strongarms definitely help with the clear times. Enjoy!

Hey guys, today I move on to tier 38. Great density but the RG fight takes a while. For the next tier I'll be gearing out my Templar a bit to contribute more to the fight, as his cc and early damage against the rift guardian (via Bul-Kathos ring) is invaluable. Enjoy and be on the lookout for 39!

GZ man ! on GR 42+ the deaths begin I'm curious how you adapt to higher GRs, for me it's worth just watching ur videos than RIP raekor barbs.

Glad to see you work on your templar, nobody will ever understand why barbs squeeze every extra dmg even out of the follower ( not cuz we suck at single target).

Thanks. I'm actually on 42 right now, haven't grinded it too much (only a couple so far). Not so worried about deaths at this point but rather not finishing in time. I actually missed one by ~30 seconds because of awful density on the first floor and only a single pylon by the time I hit RG. Squeezing out Templar damage and CC is a pretty big deal though. I'm hoping to find either Ancient Azurewrath or TF due to the 2000% weapon damage BK ring hits.
