I don't think wizards are much better than anyone else. Truth is, whenever some class/built/group composition is 1% better than others, those aiming for the spots where 0,5% matters will use that. Since we have leaderboards and ptr, and youtube and the forums, that wont go unnoticed and everyone else feels under pressure to do the same.
As a result, players are searching for a wizard and nothing else for their level 75 grift group, because thats what top players do.
Meanwhile on the other side of the planet, players with roughly the same gear clear grift100 because better skill.
Exactly this :D.
In GR 85/90+ there is a lot of DPS chars/builds you can chose. Now, some group of no-lifers from Korea does GR100 because of 24/7 fishing and great skills and playstyle and the rest of diablo community doing "sheeeep, we want only wizz to party play" like it does matter even if they are not able to do GR100. It is very sad.
Like Jbar2006 said: "That moment when everyone acts like they're top tier players pushing the highest grifts....".
Just play your/our GR85/90 with your friends and clan members and all will be happy
In every season you have one or two fotm classes, although their spec usually changes over time.
And it's a combination of overpowered damage and/or toughness through newly introduced or changed items.Just a quick glance at the twisted sword mechanics with the Delsere set where a multiplicator in the thousands gets multiplicated with another one in the same region will tell you how imbalanced this is. I don't think it slipped through, I assume they make those changes intentionally to boost a certain class for a season.
But especially with the LoN set and the possible variations it brings it might be a game changer for a class if someone found a new combination (that was unnoticed before or because there is some bug that tweaks the numbers).
The items/class/ability gets nerfed for the next season, and we have other classes rolling.
No other class right now known can do more dps and still have as high toughness than a wizzard. This will not only help people strifing for the top ladder, but it will also help people who have problems progress or farm a lvl 75 rift. It's not required, but it will make things easier.
It's true that some combos are better than other - the points are "how much" and "what's your goal".
If your goal is to reach #1, then you've no reason to complain because you should prioritize strategy over classes and if meta was 4 pet WD you would need to play a pet WD.
If it's not, any class if fine for playing, completing the journey and having fun to push as high as you can get.
The wrong part in all of this is that people believe that by rolling that class they will have an easier time in being carried by other people. Guess what happens when everyone does that and jons public games for GR75 speed and you are a 4 DMO wizards?
If most people was committed for real on competition, they would be right now running GR with their premade group. People who push for #1 don't need public games.
