Has anyone killed every monster in a hell game? Is it possible? I doubt there is a reward but it would be cool if there was, or at least a voice that says "get a life, how long have you been here?"
I figure running all the bosses and keys takes about 10-15 minutes alone, get a game with a hammerdin, lighting (sorc zon or sin) and some melee char and you could kill every monster in the game in about 3-4 hours, provided you take your time clearing each area.
I did that kind of thing in Diablo1, a while ago when I started playing it again. When I played single player, thats the kind of things I was doing, clearing an entire zone before going to the next.
I did the same with Diablo2 when I bought it, but the 'sad' thing that I noticed is that monsters actually respawns, even in a single player game. In Diablo1, when you save, your progress is also saved, and when you load, everything is exactly at the same place that you left it. But in Diablo2, only your character is saved, so to do this, you'd have to play without saving/loading until you've beat the game. It's actually doable, but I dont know if anybody has the patience and the time to do that kind of thing for days in a row.

If you can't amaze people with your intelligence, confuse them with your bullshit.
There is no difference between clearing the entire game of every single monster in one time, or doing it between save. They respawn, so what? Nothing is going to happen.
Its actually -really- boring to hunt down the last few. Sure, cleaning "most of it" is nice, but if you want to make sure every single one is dead its pretty lame, and you have no way of knowing if you -really- did it.
If I am running through all of the game in Hell mode in one sitting, I do my best to kill everything that I pass in my screen view. If I want a little extra experience to wear that new item or get those extra few stat points or something, then I will go out of my way deliberately to go through the extra dungeons and such. Most of the time, however, I only clear most of what is out. Clearing all of it, while noble, is eccentric. The game just isn't designed well enough for me to warrant killing every single monster. I do try to kill most of them, though.
i actually tried it before...season 2 of 1.10 on battlenet.
i worked on the game for 11 hours, then it crashed overnight.
i think it would only work on single player due to the time it would take and how unreliable closed (battlenet) games are over long periods of time.

serving only to ensure absolute vulnerability to the pain of their inevitable absence.
I really only cleared out in D1 cause thats easier to do than D2. I never really tried to clear out everything cause in some parts it was just way to annoying for me to handle lol. I mean it gets a little old and stale after a while

Haha my brother did that for Diablo 1, he read that it would open the cow level and he sat there all night killing literally every monster, every shrine, every barrel just to find out...there was no cow level haha.
I actually had the pleasure in participating in a contest where one guy had killed every single monster in the game except for 1, and then who ever found it got a prize.
I teleported all other along with several other people, but we had to get hints from the creator to finally find it.
One of the guys found the monster in A3 in one of the first parts, but I swear I travled in the most obscure dungeouns and couldn't find a single monster. It was cool, but probably not worth the time haha.
in D1 I did it several times (single player)... actually the first 5 or 6 times I played it I cleared every single area before going to the next one (including barrels chests, shrines and everything), in D2... never done it and never gonna try... I remember that wen i found out that the monster resspawned I was quite pissed, I still don't like it, but I got used to it:confused:

Well they only respawn if you exit game
If you play single player, you can leave the game on and continue some other day Anyways you should be able to clear one difficulty in one day pretty much.

yeah, I guess is possible, but I'm not going to do it anyway... I get bored pretty quick
Yea killing every monster in D2... It is rewarding getting to level 90+ but it would be a little to long lol.
