I love Act I. With everything about the Sisters and Andariel and the Countess and Blood Raven and the Corrupted Rogues. Love it all.
Me too, the first act is amazing! I like almost every quest in it. It has the best music and reminds me of the original Diablo. I always remember walking to the edges of the Tristram in Diablo, and wishing I could explore the woods beyond those walls. The first act of Diablo II let me do that.
My favourite quest from the whole game is definitely The Evil Countess. Made all the more interesting by the fact that its based on a real story.
I also love the latter parts of act III - the Kurast Bazaar and killing the Council etc.
My fav d2 quest is Izual. My fav d1 quests are butcher skeleten...lol ALL THE QUESTS IN D1 I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also like how hard that game is. If your playing legitly its vary difficult Espehsally when you gatta fight diablo and he has like 500 monsters surrounding him. It was vary fun and difficult to fight diablo legitly. =] (I remember just getting d1 and getting raped in level 2 =])

My all time favorite. It was more personal than any of the other quests. Nihlathak's lair kicked ass. It was all dank with really cool graffiti on the walls. And the last level of his lair looks really great with all those strange shrines and things on fire. Then his death was quite chilling how the ground opens up and swallows his soul. And even the way he mocks as you're trying to kill him.
See, what's so great about it is you're always hunting demons or undead, but in this quest, you're just killing another human who is on the verge of great power. And you have to plow your way through so much just to kill him which makes everything all the more rewarding.
definitely one of the top 5. How brutal is it to have to kill a human, on other kill good characters gone bad, you killing what is essentually a monster or demon, but with Nithlathak, he is still human, got a few spells to beef up the fight, but still human.
And so personal. This guy kidnaps people, leaves then in a frozen coffin and barters with demons.
And if you a barbarian I think it's a bit more personal based on the story, this guy is possibly from the same village as you. But since he is a mage, and your a barbarian, you should be a little suspicious of him anyways for practicing outsider magic. Not too sure why this guy is a necromancer, should be a druid at the most. But Necromancer is cool so whatever.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

I've been told by other people not to assume he's a Necromancer just because he can explode corpses. But I had created a bit of fan lore for Nihlathak and pretend that he actually captured a Necromancer once and tortured him for his secrets before killing him.
But yes, as a Barbarian it would be a lot more personal considering that Nihlathak was one of your Elders and he betrayed all of your other Elders.

Yeah, I've read that too, I think a rep from Blizzard stated it at some point.
Though as I go Barbs alot, and enjoy a bit of role playing, I like the idea of practicioner of forbidden arts. Barbarians don't use magic like the other classes (namely the Paladin, Sorceress and Necromancer), and are generally opposed to foreigners and their ways (this is stated in the barbarian history by the way), so it has some merit to it. ANd considering what he did and plans to do, it makes him a more interesting character.

But my favourite quest would be... Sisters to the Slaughter (killing Andariel).
What an AWESOME name for a quest.
It's a unique battle, well balanced and orchestrated. Me like.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
My god, man -- that's a lot of sand.
I'm all for GPP (General Physical Preparedness), but how do you get anywhere quickly carrying all of that around?
Favorite quest is probably Prison of Ice; rescuing Anya.
