I searched, but didn't see a thread like this, so here we go:
Whether we want to admit it or not, most of us have some sort habit we have to satisfy while playing Diablo II. It could be anything from always doing your MF runs the exact same way, to always killing that one particular Super Unique monster, even though you know nothing good will ever drop.
So, what are your quirky habits? Do you cross your fingers and toes before a Baal run? Do you make it a point to hunt out Rakanishu to get revenge for him killing you as a newbie? Or do you hang out with the zombies just to hear them moan about brains?
Every single time I teleport from the Outer Cloister waypoint to The Pit, I always, always, always have to check the chest in the Monastery. I never find anything worthwhile, and you would think I'd have learned by now, but I still have to check. I can't make myself pass it up, because I'm convinced I'll get something from there someday.
I also have a habit of clearing out the room just before Andariel's throne. I know I don't have to do it (thank you, teleport), but I still do it anyway. Why? No clue.
There have been times where I have been guilty of the zombie thing, as well. Mmm, brains.
I wear a one of those tennis wrist bands on my right hand so I don't lose any skin forcing my crappy mouse around the place on massively long gaming sessions. Aslo wear it when posting. It quite warm and toasty, when it's not loaded with sweat.

I always have to open every chest and kill every monster, even when I'm re-visiting a lower dungeon level. lol, its a really annoying habit, but I have to do it, its me being slightly OCD.
Most of us have some degree of OCD, and this is mine, lol.
Even after i got to lvl 89 [my pally died after 91] , i enjoyed killing rakanishu, bishibosh and the monsters in Tristram, although nothing they dropped was useful for me then.
I just enjoyed it.

Every time I'm in Tristram I always always have to kill Rakanishu as well. I feel like this time Blizz changed the game and that SoJ WILL drop for me. Even in normal. I know it's not in the back of my head but I still have to.
(Plus that little piece of shit is fun to kill. ^.^)
In every single area i have to make it visible. I mean every single piece of it. If I do not do it, then I start to go and run to that spot just to make it clear on my map. @Artumentis. I have to do that as well. I have to kill everything and open every single treasure box. It annoys me, but I have to do it for some reason.

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
i usually played music while doing MF runs. Routine was running to Mephisto (sorceress always), kill, then Andariel. Best drops i had while listening to Rammstein, especially the song "Feuer Frei!". (on the same song - same run too - i had 2 Bul'Cathos rings drop and a shako. both rings 5% leech btw ^^)
My habits are:
-Exploring the entire map:mad:
-Killing everything in site, before I attempt to kill the unique demons:mad:
-Killing the bishop in cold plains:)
-Repairing my gear every time I go to a town:)
That's it...:D

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
I always forget to repair my armor when I go into town. I hate it, because I am used to doing other things. Like buying new weapons our armor that I forget about repairing my better armor. Then when I am fighting Diablo, my armor goes out on me. It sucks.

I had the habit of exploring the entire map, killing every monster and opening every chest. Until I played Diablo2 in a LAN for the first time. I didn't get the time to do those things then, and after that, I never had to do it again.
Nowadays I have no habits like this. Except never talking to Gheed it seems, I always end up hearing his introduction speech after beating Baal
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Well I like having all the wp's - and I do mean all of them. It bugs me if there is a gap - lol.

Smiling is infectious.
Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.
My bad habits consist of:
-Not having the right gear and char level
-Not having the proper FCR, IAS, Chance to Block, or leeching
-Smoking while playing
-Creating every single build and making them godly.

Those before me shall quiver in my wake as I unleash the fury within!
one of mine...while waiting for whoevers running baal games to ge to throne room i always waypoint to stony feild and scavenge the land for an exp shrine..i find one to more often then not (depending on quickness of baal runner) It helps me leval faster and is more productive then just waiting in town..
or if the runner is very quick i just kill pindleskin...Cetarin times in the game at certain levals he will give u a nice exp chunk which helps baalin even more
I also have a habit of clearing out the room just before Andariel's throne. I know I don't have to do it (thank you, teleport), but I still do it anyway. Why? No clue.
I do it cause an SOJ droped for me, off one of those summoning black monsters things.
For me, uhmm, I kill everysingle elite monster that I come across, even if they have 100000000 people around them.
On the way to Nihla is a chest if the layout is right that I always open.
You mean the "golden" chests in the Halls of Anguish and the Halls of Pain. SUch chests are also found on level 2 of caves in act 1, 6 of the 7 tombs in act 2, The ancient tunnels, the 5 other ziggurats in act 3, the 3 Fire pits in act 5, the offshoot ice caverns in act 5, and there is probably some more, I think there is one in the Glacial Trail too a Unique Reanimated Horde monster guards it.
Does playing the game in it's entirety count as quirky? Talking to every NPC about every quest, gossiping with NPCs, exploring the whole of every stage, doing every cave, tomb, temple, ice cavern, fire pit, opening or knocking over every chest, container, stash, barrel, urb, pot, rock, hidden log, basket, tomb, grave, skull pile, hanging corpse, rogue/desertmerc/iron wolf/barbarian corpse, regular corpse, bed spread, twist soul, glass window, and well not rushing. If so then yeh i'm pretty guilty of that.

I like to keep my inventory clean. Anything and everything I don't need I stash or sell. When I have Cta, I always need to BC and BO before anything, even if I'm just trading or talking.

Refer to that thread for things people have admitted to. They all apply to playing D2 as well as wanting D3. Hope it helps xD.
