I have a question. We cant find Magic find on most item in game now. Yet the stat is still on the caracter stat sheet. Should we keep are old Magic find gear to swap or is it completly worthless now? If it's supposed to be removed why is it there?
It depends on what you need the gear for. Keep magic find for improving your legendary droprate? Hell no! It'll be completely useless, as it only works for 10% of the amount of MF and you'll gimp yourself to hell wearing legacy items.
One thing I *could* potentially see is that MF items might be interesting for farming blue items (if you have a lack thereof and need them for crafting/enchanting). But only if it doesn't gimp your stats too much. In my opinion it does, however, which is why I keep 0% MF. Also, if you play the game the way it's been design (pick up everything) and not just farm this one poor mob in this one damn area like a lunatic while ignoring 99% of the rest of the game, you will not have a problem with materials.
Blizzard has stated over and over again: if they notice a huge amount of people are wearing legacy gear - for whatever reason - they'll do something about it. So I personally don't bother. (One source for this is Travis Day's gameplay hour with Diablofans.)
Get a high Legacy Sunkeeper, a high MF shield (think 20% is max on legacy shields), a 2.0 Nagelring (50% max) and maybe a Legacy one or rare/blue (20% max). Also some legacy necks had up to 50% MF, not found any with anything like that in 2.0.
Now granted you only get 20% or so of the followers MF and then 10% of that is for legendaries, however most of the timet eh follower is useless for anything other than being an MF carrier (my enchantress is doing 90k DPS in DPS gear right now but no MF, Templar is doing around 15k but with MF). You just need to use the right follower for what you want to do. EXP farming? Get your DPS follower, item hunting? Get your MF follower.
Using MF yourself will gimp you way too much currently, least in my opinion. Faster clears are prety much always better as well as not dieing.
Personally, I don't think the MF gear will be worth the investment (if you don't have it now). The AH closes tomorrow and that gear will be obsolete in a couple of weeks.
All that is giving you less than a 4% increase in leg drops.
As I said, hardly optimal however if your OP at level 70 and wiping out your chosen Torment level (6 in this case) then you may as well just get your follower geared for MF. The increase is pathetic I agree and next to useless however it is an option.
Also with the new crafting mats coming out, having a higher chance at getting blues/yellows to blow up for materials for level 61-70 crafted rares/legendaries would be handy. For this reason alone I'm going to drag my 'useless' templar along with me on my monk to gather crafting materials for teh 60-70 slog then go for my normal enchantress DPS follower. Also depending on what the Rift is when I roll it, it may be worth while to use an MF follower...say a goblin Rift level (yes they exist) a MF follower would be handy for it assuming you can blow up the goblins easy enough without the need for follower DPS (you should be able to at 70 if you play within your means).

Thanks!
now it would probably be easyer to just make a set that kills stuff 17% faster, but still its possible.
