OK, so I've got a level 45 Summoning necro, just boosting skeleton mastery, skeleton, and skeleton mage, with a point in each (except fire) golemn.
With the Iron Golemn, is it possible to summon it using the Edge runeword? If so, given the Edge runeword has a level 15 Thorns aura on it, would that stack with the Iron Golemn's thorns?
Will it work on Edge? Probably, it's just an item like anything else?
Will it stack? Yes and no. The Iron Golem's thorns effect is similar to that found on items, i.e. returns 3 damage etc. The Thorns on Edge is however the Paladin skills. So yes they will stack, but it will still be a lvl 15 aura that's just beed added to the already existing damage. You won't get a lvl 30 thorns aura or anything of the sort.
Will it be useful? Hell no, //www.diablowiki.com/Thorns_(Diablo_II)">Thorns Aura" class="wiki-link">//www.diablowiki.com/Thorns_(Diablo_II)">Thorns Aura"/> Thorns Aura is crap and it's not really worth it. In fact, most people will tell you (rightly) that you should go for the Clay Golem most of the time. Also saves you the trouble of having to waste an item just to summon it.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Thorns Aura is not that useful in vanilla D2, especially in Hell. Monsters have too much life compared to the damage they do.
Since patch 1.10 the most popular golem is the Clay Golem since it does not cost an Item and it also has a very good feature of slowing monsters.
I do like Iron Golems but I would waste a rune word on them unless it is one of the cheap ones. I usually like to shop for a nice damaging weapon with some life leach. I also will gamble for weapons for them.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
Also, most builds don't use Skeleton Mages because they die very easily in the later stages of the game and don't do much damage. Cold mages can be useful for the slow and poison mages to disable enemy health regen, but you can raise a few of them with only one hard point and a few +Skills.
