I have a level 94 character and I like to craft items. Finding specific items can be a hassle to get a good ilvl on the item for more mods. My question is this:
If I gamble with my level 94, are the ilvl's of the items I buy roughly around my character level, regardless of the Requirement the item has?
For instance, if I buy an amulet with my level 94, and the amulet has a requirement of 7, is the ilvl still high?
Same with a high leveled item. If it's level is required 73, is its ilvl also high, or can it be low?
Just wondering to make my crafted items the best they can be.
No, I'm aware of the probabilities of gambling items.
I'm asking about the ilvl's of the items. Does ilvl have any affect on required levels of the items?
I have another question, and I don't want to make another thread.. seems like spam.
What is a "Fool's Mod"? I see people asking for that often, or making a reference to it.

When you gamble, the game calcuates what items you can get based on your character level. The ilevel will appear within a span of 5 levels iirc, so at level 94 you would get an item between 89-99 I think.
The ilevel determines what mods you can get on an item; the higher it is, you get more powerful mods.
How lvlreq is calculated I actually have no idea, but they don't have to follow each other. It's not a linear connection between the two, so you're bound to get some variation. I don't gamble, so I'm not entirely sure

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

you're right that ilvl when you gamble is based on char lvl, and that ilvl determines what mods can be on the item.. which in turn determine what lvl req the item will be. same thing for imbuing.
that's why you should gamble or imbue at certain lvls if you're looking for specific affixes or looking for an item for a particular character lvl (like for low lvl dueling)
they'll never see me coming.. life is a sequence of tragedies, inconsistent only by fleeting, elusive moments of pleasure,
serving only to ensure absolute vulnerability to the pain of their inevitable absence.
