for me, it was more like a awesome general moments for an entire year, back in 2003, playing D2/LOD in a LAN-party, with some folks at work, during work-time !.
yup. we averaged about 2 to 3 hours a day of play time for about a year, of course on the Boss's dime, and to this day, they still never knew it. -nuthin' like gettin paid to play.
I got a good one. Happened today while I was negotiating some trades. I hosted a game offering an ist rune for someone's Anni. And so I get these two Pallys, and the first one shows me his and it's completely average, so I ask to see the other guys. This second guy though seemed pretty anxious and he hit the green check right away thinking I'd agree to it. Fortunately I didn't cause the Anni was actually Mephisto's Soulstone.
Naturally I called him a fucking idiot and told him to take a hike. I couldn't tell what must have been going through this guy's mind to think he could actually pull a ruse like that off. He was either trying to be funny or he thought he was terribly clever. Probably the latter though cause if he was trying to be funny, I imagined he might have stuck around while we all laughed at him.
The first time a good unique dropped for me - shako, then another - war travs - and the first time I learned the market of Diablo... sold a shako for 5 soj's, then bought one for 4 sojs, did that until i had 10 soj's and bought a unique champion sword... and of course the time i got my etheral arreats face with 675 deg (high def because of ethereal) stolen from me... did not play again for 5 years, just started again last month... oh and a recent moment, had gheed's charm in hand... but full inventory due to mistaken pick up grrrrrr!!!!
The moment when the wall of flames seal you in to fight to the death with the countess and her minions.
absolutely epic moment

ahhaha that link is wicked funny.
but anyways, when I got my first soj everyone in the game tricked me into thinking that if I sold it to akara, I could get it back.
