I had a REALLY hard time with them in AII, Hell. Here's why: high knockback rate (I've seen upto 6 consecutive knockbacks, even on a bear), Very fast, and natural cold enchantment (makes them even faster in relation to you). It all seems a bit excessive. I've even been vollied back and forth between two of them with their knockback, very annoying because there's nothing you can do about it, but still slightly humorous. And then to make it even harder, they put two bosses in a small room and make it a mandatory quest. I had to cheat to beat it by using a telekinesis item and a lot of Full rejuvenation potions.
Anything that spawned stuff or resurrected stuff. Particularly the sand maggots and those wretched Stygian Hags that repeatedly would give birth to those little Stygian maggots. Awful. Horrible.
Carvers were potentially annoying. Depending on whether you could ignore them or how fast you killed their Shamans.
Flayers were indeed annoying. But did anyone notice how their Shamans almost never raised the dead? Nothing like the rate of how much the Carvers did it
Yeah I noticed that, I judt thought it was because I killed them so fast The Ancient Ones are pretty quick to raise the dead too. I'd have to say they are my second least favorite
Act 1 - spike fiends ... those little lizards that shoot arrow-like shards at you. They are more annoying than the Fallen.
Act 2 - LEAPERS ... I absolutely hate these. You hit them, they do a backflip over you, and slap you upside the head.
Act 3 - Flayers ... what the hell happened here? Blizzard created a monster so annoying, i'm turning red just thinking about them.
Act 4 - Those Megademon creatures, gargoyle-like, fire-breathing hellspawns. Very nasty!
I'm playing through on Nightmare right now (D2 classic), it may be a different story once I start playing through on Hell.
Hehe. Fun thread.
Why people hate flayers? Go to classic make a ww baba and oh the joy those guys die so easy and they drop loads of loot One day I did 73->78 there and almost every flayer run dropped 1 unique and bunch of rares ofc I admit that they suck with some other classes.
Well the ones I hate:
All with immunities basically Nightmare is so fun when you don't have to worry about them much. Then in hell some classes get a huge disadvantage because of them. It's not that someone would build a class to kill them but they are generally being skipped.
the mobs:
Undead Stygian Dolls: well u can't really kill these with any class that needs to be close. Annoying to flee with barb all the time.
Wraiths: drain mana, PI
Ghoul Lords: all these vampires sux, they have lots of resist they run around and cast shit on u
Leapers are annoying but easy.
Yeah all those flesh spawners have been annoying.. they can take a lot of strikes and then they spawn the small ones sigh.

Agreed, the immunities is perhaps the most annoying attribute in the game. Especially when you try to build a character with multiple attack types and then you come to a monster with double immunities exactly countering anything you can deal. I wouldn't mind if this was left out of D3...
stygnian dolls i hate them... and stupid oblivion knights with their gay ass iron maiden curse(is a pain in the ass having to revive ur merc because of that shit)...

Steel Scarab (act2)

I totally like their design but I don't like their mechanic.
They don't do anything and don't present any challenge.
They're just plain boring.

These vultures I hated the most. Flying around and you had to wait for them to land.
Oh, and archers always made my blood boil when they'd shoot and retreat, shoot and retreat. Something like the Diablo 1 Goat archers. Pain in the ass.
