Hey, I have started again after a 5 year absence from the game. I'm playing Ladder and have 0 items.
I'm going to play a Druid. I know they aren't the most powerful class but i've never seriously played one before!
I was thinking about going WereBear - maybe heaps of points in fireclaw? I'm not sure. Can anyone help out?
I need a build that is going to be relatively inexpensive to get decent damage out of. Any help is appreciated. I'm getting pretty confused trying to figure out what I want to do so any opinions would be great.

100% PvM by the way.
As with werewolf strategies, you're best maxing out the form and Lycanthropy. Maul is your damage cranker skill as a Werebear, only in rare cases is Fire Claws (which I am yet to see) is the better option for dishing out the most damage, due to the reliance on werewolf skills as a filler for prerequisites. Maul is the skill you want for dishing out the most damage, and if you do it right, you may be able to completely disable a foe as a result of the 3.4 second stun duration at level 20. But, Fire Claws is a must if you want Hunger, since werebears don't have the nifty little Feral Rage to rely on for life-steal. Shock Wave is also another good skill to max out, especially because of the 13 second stun duration at level 20.
I'd recommend gear that will increase your attack speed. The Beast runeword, though pretty expensive gives a level 9 Fanaticism aura which would help greatly. One point in hunger is enough to pretty much make sure if you hit a guy twice, you are up to 100% health and mana.So that would definitely help a great deal, Maul Werebears aren't necessarily the strongest of builds(pretty good for PvM) but they are really fun to use.

Don't try to be a great man, just be a man... and let history make its own judgment. -Zefram Cochrane, Star Trek
Relies too much on summons, and yet it doesn't max out ravens, nor does it include any of the vines. That makes a whole different type of druid though. The forms are probably only used to increase the druid's durability, since summons can be cast in were wolf/bear form. Level 5 maul and Level 1 werebear isn't gonna get you as far as level 20 maul and werebear will. (Moar health and damage!)

That build does work with crummy gear though! And that build was made with PvM in mind.:P (All my builds are.)
