My copy of D2 is legit, no cracks, no hacks, nothing. Yet for some reason I am unable to connect to battle net. Methinks it has something to do with my Airport Extreme network. I am not bad with computers but just can't grasp any of the concepts with networks.

I have googled the problem but all the solutions are way too technical for me to understand. Can anyone help me?

It only gives me the generic "Unable to connect to battle-net." I know the problem is with my network and I just can't figure it out. Also has the same problem for Diablo 1.

You checked the basics, like FireWall settings and stuff? And you couldn't find anything relative on the support site, like Sight suggested?
