So for the past two weeks or so, I have been getting these random disconnects from the game server and I am just given a window that pops up saying "The game connection has been lost: your client has been disconnected from the server". I have about 55ms latency on average, no one else in the house is using bandwidth (and I have a 30 meg connection so im pretty sure that bandwidth is not the issue). This can happen to me every 20 mins at times, other times I can go a couple hours without seeing it.
For the first month and a half of the games' release, this did not happen to me, and I am wondering why it started all of a sudden (seems to me it must have something to do with patch 1.0.3)? Is there anything I can do about this? Is this just blizzard and their shitty servers? It seems like this happens every time I have my final stack of Nephalem and I'm about to kill Seigebreaker.
Has anyone else had this issue and have you found a way to fix it?
Just to add, when this happens I do not get disconnected from bnet, it just takes me back to the quest selection/start screen. This also seems to happen to me MUCH more often in act III than I and II, although not exclusively in act III.
Nope ethernet connection through a router. I even tried disconnecting the router and only running through the modem, problem persists. I do not lose connection to anything else, bnet, skype doesn't cut out (I'm always talking to my buddies who I am running with). Its just the connection between my game client, and the blizzard server. I also rubberband A TON, much more than I used to for some reason. Patch 1.0.3 was horrible to me.
It may be that something went wrong in the patching process, so I uninstalled and am now reinstalling the game, we will see if this does anything to help.
First playthrough after reinstalling the client I was able to do a full clear of act III, something I haven't done in about 3 weeks. It seems the patch corrupted a file or something last time it was patched, reinstalling seems to have fixed the problem.
I've had it a few times since the patch. It likes to show up right after I get my 5 stack. Not sure how to fix it but I am sure it's something that needs fixing out of my reach. Since the patch the game actually feels really weird and laggy sometimes, especially when there's lots of damage on many enemies at once. In fact if I'm being hit by maybe 10+ at the same time sometimes I'll be unable to move or use abilities, get reduced to 0 hp, remain alive unable to move with a flashing red screen and can't do anything besides leave game and start again.
