These aren't even the same five posts that were there 15 minutes ago when I was browsing on my phone. Nor is it the first time all five posts were spam posts.
I realize they probably get deleted quickly enough, but is there a solution to this being worked on? Just in the time I've taken to upload that image and type this up there's been three more. It's pretty annoying not having any actual recent posts to view.
I know its a pain, please bare with us for a while longer. We've been flagging the posts as spam to help with automated removal and I've notified the people who handle the spam module as well. Apparently it's something to do with football season that makes sports spam bots flare up.
We're aware of it, and I'll be pushing to get it handled the best way it can be.

We got the same shit on my guilds forums, I banned the IPs, it went away.

I myself have banned, likely, over 100 IPs in the last 2 weeks. Do you see them stopping?
Not to worry. We've recently sent sandwiches and chocolate to the dev team. They're working as hard and fast as they can.
Not much difference as far as I know, they may have a different or better spam protection system in place currently. We're looking into getting some more antispam measures set up though.
It's just a dance of death with the spammers and they make tweaks to the way they spam often so it's hard to pin down patterns without it potentially interfering with actual conversations too. The PHP team is looking more into it to hopefully get a handle on it a little better.
IP banning isn't helping they just use a different proxy, that's why it's taking more time to fix. If it were that simple it'd be done and over.
Sucks that you cant really get away with an IP ban range being that these boards probably have people from all countries. My guild forums doubles as our WoW server forums for the most part. I just had our super moderator ban Korea and China IP ranges. Not sure how exactly he did it, but that's why he is the supermod.
not much except reporting it... (there's a report button below every post)
Since these threads usually appear on less visited forums (non-D3 General Discussion, Fan Art, Fan Fiction) sometimes it takes some time before we see them, and reporting it gives us a heads-up to where these spam threads are..
Ever since my thread about moderation needing in the trading forums I've been reporting all post that are spam. But it sucks doing that from a phone.
Would it be possible to add a Spam button similar to the report button that would remove the topic at hand until a moderator could view it to determine it was spam rather than it be the other way where we report and wait for you to view? I don't know much if any about current forum coding but back in my HTML days in highschool back in 2003 it was pretty simple.

that would be abused to much.
We should hopfully have the devs applying a second round of updates soon which should reduce the weekend spam x10 fold. The main issue is these are not all bots, from the records it looks as if its humans doing it by hand.

Maybe attach a rule with the abusement of the system? Like if a post that isn't spam is marked spam then the marker gets X amount of time of a ban? Or have a system of a minimum of 2 individual users mark it as spam before it gets taken down?
I believe a forum that also self moderates along with a team of moderators works smoothly. My personal most frequented forum works almost like that. The rep system on there is a joke but there isn't really any issues. Although, they do have a bi yearly survivor contest. Whoever wins gets voted off the site for 6 months. It keeps the trolls away.

We do our best though to clean them asap
