So I realize that it may not be worth the work (I don't know your visitor stats, i.e., what the mobile/standard ratio is, or how much work it would entail), but it would be great to have access to a mobile version of this site.
Like I said, I realize it is work and that you would have to maintain another version of the site, but I frequent this site often, and as a result I would like to use my iPhone to view it (I surf the web on my phone quite a bit). Unfortunately, the layout is terrible for a mobile device. I peruse mmo-champ on my phone, and that's not great, but it's better than this site.
The text doesn't scale properly (stays at full width), scrolls off the screen, the color scheme makes it hard to see detail, the nav icons are really small, etc.
Anyway, something to think about if you get a lot of mobile traffic (or if you don't due to the site layout).
True a mobile version would be very appreciated indeed. Reading and replying to this topic on my iPhone atm. And these forums are my salvation during boring class times in school. XD
Would be nice to let your voices/opinions to be heard/known if you too use a mobile phone to check this site as well.
im on this site 95% of the time VIA my phone (this is not a made up stat, its really how im on the most) and I feel you 130% on the matter
But the traffic that views this site via phone is MASSIVELY small. Its for sure something that would be nice, but it is by no means high up on the list

Sure, that's completely understandable. You have a finite amount of time to make the site better, so you need to get the most bang for your buck. Of course, it's hard to know if your mobile traffic is low due to low interest or due to poor usability
Perhaps there is a compromise to be made. Instead of going full blown mobile, does there exist a small set of relatively trivial changes that could be made to the layout which would enhance usability to a large extent? I don't know, just thinking.... I want to visit this site more often on my phone, I really do.

I think that the reason there are so few using the site on mobile is because it is so cumbersome to use on the smaller screen.
no, this was the case way before we changed layouts. when the site did work okay on a phone
