I remember buying a decent set of gear off of the AH after hitting 60, glass-cannoning my way through inferno, and feeling incredibly satisfied when I finally killed Diablo. Belial felt similar, but he took a lot less time to finally kill than Diablo.
I remember farming after that and finding 2, maybe 3 upgrades over the course of probably 50-200 hours. I remember finding 1, maybe 2 or 3 legendaries... all of them low level and worthless.
I remember when the best items dropped in act 4 so I would go teleport near diablo in inferno and talk to kul or w.e npc there was so spawn one purple taggd monster which i would die to and farm over and over just to get an OP blue sword to sell lol. Its funny to look back and remember getting excited over one blue item. My friends would all be jealous of my drops and be like "man how u farming inferno act 4? tht shits impossible!" but i was just playing cheesy AF
im sooo happy we can actually find our own gear now. instead of finding someone elses BIS seling on ah, and buying your own gear. Pretty broken mechanic but i gotta say the d3 RMAH and gold ah taught me alot about investing and flipping for proffits. also how to observe trends in markets which ive been able to apply to the real world and gain from.
I remember when certain folk weren't allowed to vote or sit in the front seat of buses. j/k
I do remember when Blues were better than Legs and Jay Wilson initially not understanding it was an issue. I get choked up when I think about how much this little D3 has grown
I remember elites with crazy affixes healing back to full life whenever you died, and having to wait for your cooldowns to reset before being able to take them on again.
It was about 15 seconds before they'd start to heal back up. I remember getting into Inferno and kiting elites to an exit, leaving the zone so I could cooldown and reentering just before they'd start to heal.
I also remember feeling like I could cry when I first realized that Legendary items weren't legendary at all.
Kids nowadays use a book to identify inventories full of legendaries, back in my day we had to click on every single yellow item to id them, all to sell to vendors or salvage them, also one by one, nothing like that fancy "salvage all" buttons
lol i started playing d3 when RoS came out, some friends say that i started playing when diablo 3 went good but reading all this made me wanna try old school d3 i wish there was a "classic mode" T__T
PS: sorry if my english is garbage isn't my main language.
I remember when I spent four hours attempting to overcome azmodan because his black pools would 1 shot me so I had to dodge before they spawned, took me for ever to get that timing down... Loved every second, i'm a sucker for a good boss battle... Apart from Izual, screw that guy.
I remember in NA server my HC barb was 400 to 500 hours old and still was using yellow items.
And now......Damn. You can be fully geared in no time, and it gets expensive fine tuning your toon. I love how they did this. much more enjoyable.
