I really apologize if this is a repost, but I looked all over and couldn't find anyone else talking about this. If someone could explain why the wizard is soo hated on in the console I'd appreciate that a lot.
So I was just browsing around looking at other peoples builds and i noticed something crazy. Someone was using the Obliteration rune for arcane orb on the wizard and the tool tip said it did 700% dmg, and I immediately checked my wizard on my 360 (yes I have RoS) and Obliteration rune on the console only does 267%. Other differences
Arcane torrent power is less
Disintegrate doesn't get 250% increased dps up to 811%, (same thing with Ray of Frost)
Diamond skin absorbs roughly 20k less dmg
Wave of Force less dmg
Meteor 240% less Dmg, with completely different Runes don't even get Thunder Crash...
Blizzard less dame and different runes dont have Lightning Storm... (Other runes are different aka worse)
Storm armor, Shocking Aspect rune is down from 425% damage to a whooping 51%...
Explosive blast damage down from 945% to 616% (Other runes also changed for the worse)
Black Holes damage is basically halved from 700% down to 360% (Supermassive rune is down form 1290% to 570%...)
So I checked my DH everything checks out there was about 100% dmg missing here and there but nothing like wizard.
Witch Doctor was basically the same too except for Sacrifice which was nerfed to all hell.
Too lazy to check other I assume you guys get the point.
So is there just a big difference in the game from PC to Console or...?
I play the console version with my son and the PC version any other time. The console, although it has some of it's own nuances, is about half a patch back. Damage across all classes is a little off when compared to the PC....loot is a little wonky as well. In my twisted mind I imagine they stagger the patching of the console and PC in order to generate more sales.
except that he won't see it on his console since he have it on the 360. Only the Xbone and PS4 will have the 2.1 therefore, in his case, the game on console will remain somewhat the same as it is currently. For further information, if you want to compare UEE and PC version, check pc 2.0.6 patch since it is mainly based on that patch (if you took the day 1 patch, otherwise it is 2.0.5)
Wow, you know i understand I understand at some point cutting loose from last gen consoles is necessary, but seriously this game just came out a month ago for consoles... They won't release the first actually patch for it. It would have been nice to know from the beginning that they would never update it that way I could have just put the money away for a One at least.

As for the OP, yes, the console is a patch behind and the effects will be seen only on the PS4 and XB1.
Also, Diablo has been out for the console for some time now, on the PS3. As for hack n slash dungeon crawlers go, it is by far the best port of a PC game I have ever played. With 2500 hours in on the PC and about 1000 on the console, I will say the game is great on both platforms with the PC edging it out in some ways but the console performing loot drops better IMHO.
Syronicus, the version with the expansion was released for the PS3 and 360 at the same time as the PS4 and One. Spiff, I'm not sure about the 360, but the PS3 version has one big advantage over the PS4-- you can play online coop for free. The PS4 version requires Playstation Now @ 6+ dollars a month.
Correct, hence why I put, on the PS3 in my post. My point was, it's been on the console for a while, maybe not for the 360 but it's been out for some time. Blizzard is not going to support the old consoles and that is just the plain truth. It's a sad day when you have to retire the old but with the new comes all the updates and new goodies.
