If I have a Greater Rift keystone in my stash, Can I still get a Trial Stone from a normal rift guardian?

If I get in over my head, Can I run like hell and tp back to town? Or do I have to fight until I win or die?

I only really know an answer to your last question and that is no, you don't have to fight till you win or die. You can run and abandon the game entirely

u can tp and wait until the guardian spawns, then throw ur face at it until it dies

I just have to add another question. Can I upgrade a gem that's in my stash?

when you upgrade a gem the game gives you a list of the legendary gems you posses, those in your stash, inventory and already socketed in items, to choose which to upgrade I believe.

Ok, So I can put my gems back in my stash then, so I don't lose them if I (god forbid) die

Yes. Pretty positive you can hold an unlimited number of any combination of them. I've personally had 2 trial stones, a lvl 26 keystone, and a lvl 28 keystone in my inventory all at once. The only thing I can't confirm 100% is whether you can hold multiple of the same level keystone, i.e. 2x lv28's, simply because I just haven't done it yet. But I see no reason why they'd restrict this.

Sweet, Thank you. I gave in for the temptation, and used my keystone.. Hoping that it would solve the problem. I finished after the clock ran out, As i guessed... I got bored of running rifts (11 in a row without any trials).. But next time, If I get beyond my comfort zone, I can put it in my pocket, and let it wait until I am ready

You upgrade keystone if you beat timer, and keep using it until you don't beat the timer. Then you upgrade your gems.
