Looks like the 2.1.0 PTR has finally started its first Season. I'll attach a video later for those that don't like to use the PTR to see what's a little different and new.
Update 6:55pm EST - Added update on difficulty unlocks for seasonal characters Update 9:16pm EST - Added note on seasonal legendaries due to blue post, video linked (still rendering) Update 10:28pm EST - Video done uploading and is live, may take some time for the HD version however
So far, some observations:
Difficulty selection no longer uses a slider when choosing Torment I-VI, instead it's an extended glass window mural that slides to the side
the escape menu shows the change in benefits when you try to choose "lower difficulty"
The escape menu is more clear about how to increase difficulty
You can access Adventure mode right away and it unlocks your followers/artisans for Campaign mode (subject to change)
There's banner rewards listed, but they aren't implemented yet
The transmog set is not officially listed either
EVERYTHING is reset except for your banner, this includes having to unlock all stash tabs again
There is a separate "Achievements" tab for seasons as well as the previously mentioned "conquests"
Conquests do not currently have rewards attached
There's a little leaf icon in the lower left of a Legendary's artwork that will have an "X" in it if the legendary was found outside of a season ladder (this appears to only happen if an item is linked to a Seasonal character, more testing needed)
Seasonal characters have access to all your main character's difficulties (no need to unlock torment)
Seasonal Legendaries do not currently drop (per blue post) will be updated on next build
That's all I really have right now, I was surprised that there were some changes to the UI outside of a patch (unless the patch was really small and I didn't see it).
The youtube video has been linked but it's still uploading/rendering. should be online in a couple hours. Added a note from a blue post that Seasonal Legendaries are not active right now on PTR.

Be kinda nice if that stayed that way playing through the entire campaign is kinda boring after the 1000th time though but I doubt it will.
While it's nice that you don't have to do it again in the story, it just seems to undermine the whole point of making you start fresh if you can just unlock the artisans and followers right away by starting in Adventure mode. it also means you just go right to whatever farming route you want. I have no real strong opinion on it since I never really cared about ladders/seasons, so I won't mind either way, interested to see what others think about it though.

That's exactly how I feel.
I don't know, it just feels better to start fresh by playing all the campaign mode. We're gonna end up farming bounties and rifts soon enough anyway.
Agreed. It's not a significant difference but it just feels cleaner and fairer to start people in campaign mide.
In other news, no changes to number of hero slots to accompany Seasonal mode on the PTR; if that stays that way, the whole thing is moot for me, since I won't ever be playing a Seasonal character.
There is certainly a difference between playing through the story 1001 times, then facing the possibility of doing it another four or five times through...and starting a new season and having to do it once more. I really wouldn't mind, especially since they implemented first kill legendaries on act bosses. Maybe they're not endgame level, but just starting over with a new Monk today, making it to the mid hundreds briefly on the achievement ranking, building my artisans back, making use of literally any legendary and skill I could...pretty fun.
I'd be fine with it if they required one more trip through the campaign, but doing Adventure Mode from the get og feels great, too.
ye, its really better fitting to seasons to start all over, without exceptions. it surely will not unlock adventure mode right from the start in future patch.
i think it brings some nostalgic moments and more diversity and fun starting new chars. and for the lazy ones: it doesnt really take much time to do so .. some hours, maybe 1 day and you're lvl70 with maxed artisans anyway, so no problem here i think.
I am not going to play PTR and I have not been playing DIII at the moment since I am back in the burned out phase. I really do hope that they remove the option to go straight to Adventure mode when this patch hits the live servers. I mean right now campaignmode is deader than dead.
Also isn't the whole point of Ladders/Seasons is to start from scratch.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
Have they increased the number of characters you can have in your account. I'm already at 12 characters. It would be nice not to have to delete one to make room for seasonal characters.

There is no change on the PTR currently. I had to delete a character to make a Seasonal character to test.
PTR usually just aggrivates me. I accomplish something then remember it will be wiped and theres no real use for it. Ill just keep on plugging along till the patch comes live

Allowing adventure mode from the get-go rather ... disagrees with that. Why not just start everyone at level 70 with 100,000 rift fragments too?
Starting over should mean starting over. Isn't that what people want? What am I missing here?
