I have been thinking about the introduction of Ramalandi's Gift, I think that there should be an additional item or an option to reset the enchant that has already been done on the weapon. The reason is that most people that already had weapon with a socket would have rerolled some other stat to get a better weapon, which in 2.1 would now become a bad weapon as they could have had additional stats and a socket with the introduction of Ramalandi.
What this essentially means is that half of the weapons that people have found are now useless and they will need to find another weapon with better or same rolls. If Blizzard is going to add an item that is going to get an EXTRA stat (1 socket on weapons) then there should be an option to reset the weapons we have so we can also benefit from this item on what ever weapon we want.
Keeping in mind that a lot of players would have also spend countless souls rerolling to get specific stats and they have spent countless hours to get a nicely rolled weapon, I do not see a down side to implementing this option and would be extremely unfair to people that already have a weapon that they would like to continue to use (through countless hours of grinding).
I should note that I am not asking that the option be free (although if it was it would be great) but if there putting a price on it (10mil or more) will help then so be it.
Someone should probably tell you - so let me be the one to do it - that this is not Blizzard's website, and you are not going to get an answer from them.
For my opinion, though, no, I think this is a very bad idea. New stuff is added in patches to give you new things to do and new goals to pursue. It would be completely counter-productive to let you just buy your way to getting the best possible 2.1 gear without even having to play after 2.1 lands.
Also, "half of the weapons that people have found are now useless" is a wild exaggeration. That weapon you just called useless? It is exactly the same after 2.1 as it is now. Whatever difficulty you can clear with it now, you can still clear with it after 2.1. The fact that it becomes possible to find something even better does not make your weapon useless.

You took the words right out of my mouth.
I do agree with that, but about the idea, I've tought about something similar, but way more balanced: an Ramalandi's Gift likeitem that would reroll the entire item instead. This shoud be good, as a not so easy thing to do, cause even enchanting a single afix sometimes leads us to spending a lot of FS, then it would not be so abusive and in return we could hope to get something good out of that shitty "vit-low dmg-chance to bleed" frustrating weapon or so...

feel like this would be broken, A material that could reroll the entire item would be tantamount to getting(for example) multiple soj's, this would make getting copies of legendaries virtually useless. I mean if you found a bad andarials would you spend time kadala'ing helmets or switch your focus entirely to farming a material that effectively gives you multiple andarials? It would shift focus from doing rifts and bounties to matt farming again. maybe if you were limited to one reroll per item and the material was insanely hard to get I could get on board with that.
I disagree, because the addition of the R gift doesn't make current items 'useless', as you say. They still work just as well as before. It just means new items that you find could potentially be better, which makes people hunt for more items, which is a good thing.
I know that this is not blizzard website, however I do believe that Blizzard employees do monitor these forums and it is frequent that "blue posters" answer questions in the forums.
I think you are missing the point, this is not new gear that you now need to look for, but the exact same gear that you already found prepatch but now is technically inferior because they implemented a new item that now addresses the difficulty of rolling a socketin weapons. The item will therefore benefit people that have not been able to roll sockets on their weapons, but will leave a lot of people that had sockets naturally roll in their weapons out in the cold. If they make a new item that puts an extra socket in a non-socketed weapon, it should be open to all people for all their weapons prepatch and not favour some, which this would do if there is no way to reverse the existing enchantment.
A good example is getting a Wand of Woh or Starmetal Kukri with anatural socket. You have subsequently rerolled one of the stats to +10% damage. Following the patch your weapon is not as powerful and now you need to find another one because Blizzard implemented a new unneeded item? Obviously with these weapons they are extremely rare and would have taken most people significant amount of time to farm. Please let me know how this is fair.
If it was a revamp and there wereall new weapons and higher level content I would have no problem with this, but fact is that only someof the player base will benefit from this whilst some will not.

Then why even introduce RG ?. If they just fix the root cause of weapons with insufficient affixes, then that should suffice.Everyone who then plays 2.1 will eventually come across good weapon drops and RG will be a totally redundant. In the current PTR implementation, RG is a band aid at best, not what I would call a "fix".
I totally agree with kNark above and raised this concern myself previously but it seems alot of people fail to see it, including Blizzard. Its no surprise D3 is in this state if all the design decsions are made by people looking through magnifying glasses. For goodness sake, stand back and look at the big picture.
However, if they are intentionally making bad design decisions in order to keep ppl playing and changing up, then I applaud them as it's working.
On that point, who thinks the Stash should be increased in size ?
Yes if I rerolled some stat into a socket, that's fine. Becauseyou can rerollthe socket back to some other stat and then use Ramadami;s gift to get a socket. That's fine. BUT what ifyour weapon already had a socket? andyou rerolled another stat? I can no longer use Ramadami;s gift because it already has a socket. How is that "an option to get exactly the stats we want"? I am suggesting/asking for the option to reset theweapon back to theoriginal form when we had found it sothat everyonecanbenefit from the Ramadami's gift? I have the mats and I have the money, but weapons like Wand of Woh, SMK, Rheno Flayers, Thunderfurys are hard to come by especially with good rolls. This is by no means a way to get what ever stat I want, but only an option to allow people that were lucky enough to roll natural sockets prepatch to also benefit from this new item.
I should make the distinction that even though you reset your weapon to the original stats it was found with, the cost to enchant should stay same. So if it currently costs 5mil to enchant, it should stay 5mil to enchant for new stats.

Indeed, "blue posters" answer questions in the forums.. the Diablo III forums on Blizzard's website. Not the forums on the FAN site diabloFANS.com

I think this is not such a bad idea, having a legendary item that could re-roll item... except you cannot re-roll to old stats since they aren't kept anywhere, so how would the game know which stat was there in the first place.
They could put it in with drop chance same as legendary potions (since those things don't just drop so often), so if you find one, you would keep it for really good thing.
I may be biased, but after playing for couple hundreds of hours (RoS, 1200 in total) and haven't been able to find even 1 WoW, SoH or some other items, it would be just waste if only one I get has all crappy rolls. Not that I complain about the drops. When it drops I will be happy, until then I will play with the items I have. Don't be one of those guys who has 3000+ hours in and has seen it all, or one of those who had billions of gold post AH so re-rolling came to them easy, or extreme lucky ones who had a streak of good luck and found it all - those guys always say that game is to easy. Some of people playing have lives besides the D3, and for those people this would be great since they don't have the time to grind, for lets say, 2 mirrorballs.
For those who have all the needed gear, there is always room for improvement, and for that matter, who said that re-rolled item would be better then the one you already have???? You could have TF with 2200 damage and go to crappy one with 1950 base.
Thats exactly my point, and as it should be a very rare item, it would just save one or another item that you stored for this occasion, and would be pointless to farm fro this item, as the farmed itens in the proccess may outcome the results... It's just a "don't get so frustrated" button, like an wizz that played for hours just to drop an vit-no socket WoH for an exemple... and as weapons having the possibility of a fifth affix, it would be as hard to make BiS weapons, with high dmg, main stat, maybe CDR and then the RGift's socket... so it shoudn't be a end gear maker at all...
On that point, who thinks the Stash should be increased in size ?
Well, Blizzard, obviously. Since it is increasing in size in 2.1. Not sure if that fits your "Blizzard are idiots" narrative, though.
Given they are introducing a whole new set of gems and items, increasing the stash size is a no-brainer. It remains to be seen whether the stash is sufficient to hold all the gems, items and crafting materials the average player ( hoarders excluded ) will keep for their different character classes / builds
Regarding Blizzard, its strikes me that their development / testing lacks any scenario modelling. Modelling all the possible outcomes of all characters/items/affixes/stats. This is the reason why there is frequent buffing/nerfing. With good scenario analysis / simulations, they would be able identify all imbalances ( over power combos, under powered combos ) and test all the new items/features before the PTR. It's all simple maths...
I must really be confused: If you rolled a stat off a current weapon you could always (if you wanted to) reroll that stat right back on to that spot (socket or not)- in short you can always get the weapon you "had" back -
After 2.1 if you found a weapon with a socket you could roll that to something else - THEN use RG to put a socket on it - in essence gaining an extra affix.
If you want to keep your current items forever, then you are clearly in the wrong genre. Patches come and bring new and better items. That's how it is and always will be in item based games. There will always be a carrot on a stick. Having the best equip forever is not an option.
Yes, but the carrot and stick are mounted on the back of a ferrari travelling at top speed whilst I'm chasing it riding a donkey. But I tell myself, eventually, the Ferrari will break down or run out of fuel so I can catch up . BUT then the new patch arrives and now the carrot and stick has been remounted on a Maclaren F1.... All I can do is whip my donkey.....
