It seems like having a fifth passive outweighs the benefit of all the other amulets affixes, except for maybe the arcane wizard one. Do you guys think that hellfire amulet will be so good that everyone will need one?

If you can get a good one, yes.
But it might take forever to get even a remotely useful one. Farming keys takes some time and RNG, getting the organs takes some RNG (remember both keys and organs have only a 50% drop rate, so Bad Luck Brian might have to farm 100 keys to get even one amulet).
Then you want a useful passive (imagine getting Galvanizing Ward which is, imho, the most useless passive ever). And then the amulet needs to roll at least a few decent stats (you absolutely definitely need CHD on an amulet, and likely won't give up on CC or main stat either). Getting a perfect amulet - trifecta with the right element and a useful passive - is like winning the lottery.
So... I'm not concerned. It's like the Wand of Woh, just harder to get because even more different RNG factors :-)

I think it would be easier then a Wand of Woh. There's no guarantee you'd ever see a WoW. you are guaranteed this drop, and you'll eventually make a good one..probably within 4-6 crafts.
Don't forget - you dont need it to roll a 5th one you want - you only need it to roll *most likely* one you already have selected - then you pick the 5th one. With 18 passives and 4 selected your odds of getting either one you already have or one you'd want are almost 25%,
If the dev team wants to be REALLY generous they could automatically roll CHD, or CC.
/of course with gems we're going to want a socket on that sucker as well.
There's at least one new amulet (I believe there's a few) that can roll 5 primaries. Depending on class, an extra amulet primary will likely beat a passive for many builds (keep in mind a socket is now going to be must-have on amulets...so this is like 10% CC / 100% CHD / 20% Ele vs a passive). Also, I'd take the fire immune amulet over it almost no matter what. Granted, that's the rarest amulet in the game, but still superior for almost every class / build in my opinion. The hellfire amulet is going to make an excellent stepping stone though for new seasonal characters and probably be BiS for some classes with a well-rolled one.

Hmm. I don't really think a stat can compare to certain passives. Unstable Anomoly? Audacity? It's just not happening. You only need to roll one of the four passives you'd use to unlock ANY passive you want - it doesn't have to be on the amulet.
well my plan is to get 100 keys each allowing me to make 100 machines - 25 each. With a really bad luck I can get enough organs to craft 10 ammys not to mention I can double that when I farm ubers in a full party and everyone chips in.
After 2 days of farming I already got 42 keys each so before PTR ends I might even go further than 100 each but since there are so many good passives for DH I'm not worried I roll a bad one, it's the stats that are the biggest factor here
still with the pre 2.1 gear being mostly obsolete what else is there to do besides farming for keys
The way you said that made it sound like you won't be farming ubers until 2.1. You can still do them and it probably would be a good idea to do it to save you time in 2.1.
For a Mirrorball Wizard, it's going to depend a lot really. Taking Blur, Audacity, EE and Conflag, it basicly leaves you with these choises for a fifth passive:
Glass cannon (can you deal with the survivability loss that you can't get rid of if its on the neck?).
Unwavering will (will you stand still long enough for it to be usefull?)
Minor survivability talents like Dominance and UA, or maybe even evocation (although that'd only just BARELY be usefull if you used archon in the MM build).
I mean... It's not really great. I can see some specs who would have great use of a fifth passive (say, perma archon who will always want evocation), but right now, Mirrorball ignite seems like the strongest due to the depth diggers. I'd probably stick to my Mara's necklase if it wasn't because it doesn't have fucking elemental dmg.
But compared to a neck where you can roll ele dmg, CC, CHD, mainstat and a socket? I probably wouldn't take any of those passives over a few of the gems (plus primary dmg for MM dmg or plus bleed gem due to the "ignite"-like effect + attack speed to benefit ignite stacking).
That is, of course, just for wizard.
For my fire sentry DH, I can totally see the neck being extremely good. Currently running awareness/TA/archery/perfectionist, and I wish I could fit in steady aim/Custom engineering/ballistics/ambush.
I think HF amulet will indeed be the only choice eventually. Nothing can compete with an extra pssive and since hf amu itself can roll ele/cc/chd + main stat, there's absolutely no drawback. And it's actually easier to get a good one than some might think in terms of the rolled passive because all you need is a passive out of the 4 you are already using. Still though, it will be a big challenge to get a good one with perfect stats. It will take us some time ro replace our 20-10-100's...
Like, Jamoose said, it really wont be that difficult. Rolling the amulet, you really only need 1 out of the 5 passives that you want to run.
Gathering keys and killing ubers has become really easy now on t6 even on the live game. On the PTR, most things got buffed, and with the new legs T6 is quite frankly a joke. Greater rifts are were the challenge is at.

While what you're saying is true for many users here on Diablofans, keep in mind that 99% of players are not even close to T6...
And farming the keys might be "easy", but it's also damn boring. Can't stand it for more than an hour. And getting a decent trifecta isn't something you'll automatically get after ~10 crafts either.
Moonfire Ward can definitely beat a passive - 30% Arcane damage and a damage aura is a lot better than most wizard passives for Arcane builds, and if it respects the Arcane = Holy thing from resistances, it's also very useful on Monks and Crusaders. The absorb amulets are also solid options, and there may be new seasonals that can compete with a Hellfire Ammy. What HA does, though, is fill the gap between Sovereign Amulet crafting and pure RNG. If you're really struggling to get an amulet to drop, and you need the higher stat caps, in 2.1 you have an option - farm for a HA. In 2.0, there's only the absurdly inefficient plan of gambling for neck pieces (20 shards per roll, same chance of legendary as any other slot).
i think, depending on how PTR will progress, they eventually should increase the drop chance for keys as well as for organs, like to around ~75% or so. otherwise i fear much QQs will be coming ...
gonna try to craft some ammys in the next time on the PTR anyways, let's see...
Guys, please. The HA is supposed to be the be all end all amulet for a lot of classes and specs. It doesn't have to be that for all specs. With this in mind, there is no reason to treat it like cheap transitioning gear. Farming for it and upgrading it is (imo) supposed to be one of the things to do besides (greater) rifts.
I am no fan of the current key farming procedure but the actual uber encounters were the one aspect I liked most in D3V (former WoW player ). Haven't bothered with them in RoS so far to be fair because the current ring is a joke.
Will randomly roll a passive appropriate to your class
Available for purchase from Squirt in Act II for 5 million gold
Requires the same materials to craft as the Hellfire Ring plus 10 additional Forgotten Souls
okwat, kthxbye :/
3 hours of farming for 4x10 keys, needed to go to 2 realms twice, because of crappy droprate and got this beauty yay
(in case u can't see stats):
raw dmg
int
vit
aoe
secondary: melee reduce 7%
saw it afterwards, that in the craft window from merchant, it says: xx mainstat +4 attributes ;D well, I thought it was implemented already, as nothing was mentioned otherwise in patch notes .. ? hm
Blizzard is changing lots of legendarys, for example the shity Flavor of time will roll 5 primary stats (at least on PTR), if you are freaklish lucky, you could roll on a 5 stat ammy ele%, prim stat, CHD, CC and Socket.
Well, I bet a perfect 5fecta (lol) ammy have the potential to be better then a trifecta + passive skill for many builds.

Will it be a popular choice? I'd bet my right arm on it.
