Over the course of playing RoS, i have been having a spectacular time. I look forward to my time to play, i try to get my lame friends who are quitting to stick around. But one of my complaints have been Treasure Goblins. I feel like i find a large number of them but they tend to almost exclusively drop crafting mats, and rarely anything decent.
Before you get all enraged, i am NOT asking for them to drop legendaries every time. i actually am completely comfortable with the drop rates, and ecstatic with the buff remaining. The truth is i would rather find much fewer goblins around and have them feel more rewarding. I remember when i first started playing D3, and they were a time everyone grouped up, made sure their stuff was off CD (on times we were under geared or pushing new difficulties of MP) so that we could make sure they weren't getting away. I want that difficulty to present itself again. in t4 solo i can kill the goblin with just a resource bar of Cluster Arrows for some crafting mats. Doesn't feel like treasure.
is this a very minor issue? probably. but i would be curious to see if others have the same opinions.
lets make an assumption that by more difficulty i also include more loot. but leave a comment if you want to specify more loot with the same difficulty.
I still run myself silly into all kindsa crap chasing a goblin for what I'd say is probably less than optimal return on risk.
I'd like to see current rate with a bump in loot, not legs neccesarily, butminimally Imperials, or (wish for the stars) higher gems than normally dropped?
Or just obscene amounts of gold, something relevant to a treasure thieving goblin! Piles of it.
To address the question, same rate more difficulty?
But I favor just more "treasure" as in gold/gems...
i'll be honest, i'm ok with this a little.like i said originally im perfectly content with the number of legendaries i'm finding. before and after the buff. i just want the treasure goblin excitement back instead of, look a walking pack of crafting mats.
Goblins provide me with a litmus test for my DPS relative to the difficulty I'm on. If I have sufficient DPS for the difficulty setting, I can take them out without issue. If I have my difficulty too high, it can be too difficult to take them out.
So to that end, if I have my difficulty setting as optimal, they aren't much trouble. I view them in no different light than a free-click...same as I view destructible objects. Expect, gobs guarantee gems and loads of gold with a few mats to boot. I've gotten enough legs from the little buggers to view them as worth the trouble.
A really fat greedy goblin that's extremely rare to find and fights back with random CC effects, but when found and killed he will explode into at least 1 legendary with a bunch of gems, mats, and other things.

i'm down for this, there is that sorta rare unique goblin that exists too. but he drops the same loot as the regular ones.
Where is the option for more goblin rate? You have to cover all your options if you want an effectve, successful poll.
i didn't put more goblin rate in because it feels fairly common to find goblins already. i don't really have the curiosity of if people want more goblins. no offense.
yes im sure they do have the same loot table as elites, but they are more rare than elites. im just looking for a more rewarding feeling. making higher drop chances and spawn less often can accomplish this goal.
also the goblin is anything but a walking Resp chest. Resp chest drop almost guaranteed 4 items. granted mostly rares, but they still feel way different.
Does the colour of the goblin make any difference? A few times now I've run into purple Treasure Goblins (instead of the usual white ones), and I think I've run into a blue as well. As far as I could tell the colour made no difference, but with such a small sample size ... Maybe the purples should drop a guaranteed legendary?
Also what's the deal with Treasure Goblin packs? Three times now I've run into a group of 10-15 Goblins (twice solo, once in a clan group). Best I managed was to kill 5 I think, but the others all escaped. Are these packs supposed to happen, or is it a bug, or just a statistical fluke?
Color doesn't matter AFAIK.
Goblin packs are part of rifts and will occur rarely but will happen. Meant to be fun and lots of loot if you can kill them!

That's not true. Res chests often drop only a few rares. As well, I was speaking about the odds of a Leg drop. Both the same. At least the gob drops gems and mats aplenty, whereas a Res chest usually just stuffs your bag with rares and blues.
Considering there is no option to increase loot from a goblin in your poll, I guess there's nothing for me to vote on. Treasure goblins to me are sort of a waste of time. If I see one, I kill it, sure, but they never drop any thing for me. Never. In ~1500+ hours play time. Never had anything from a resplendent chest either.
Once upon a time these things gave loots, but blizzard decided they couldn't have people actually getting loot from anything other than killing thousands of mobs, so they nerfed everything into oblivion. I always just roll my eyes at the people in public games that flip out and get all fixated on goblins.

Yeah, making this into a poll will save you time and make it easier to collect data.
Ah there we go. do you think i should include increased drops in the poll?

No changes need to be made IMO.

are you really in a place where one extra gem is going to be a welcome surprise. or that 1 extra veiled crystal is make or break?
Treasure Goblin King.

The goblin is a rolling Res chest. If it's any trouble to kill, the problem began when you selected your game difficulty.

They. Never. Drop. A. Damned. Thing.
Unless you wanted a gem or two, I guess.
