Ban those damn bots, for sure. Ladders and challenges WITH leaderboards means serious biznus, so hopefully they are on top of it.
Sactly Bleu42, im a big fan of Diablo (I, II, LoD, D3, RoS) i understand that "the new crew" (mosqueira) want change and improve some cool stuff, and this penalty to the AFK(iss ass) are THE BEST THING THAT THEY CAN DO.

The "screenshots of butthurt cheaters" are comedy gold.
Especially the "time to hit the chargeback" guy.. good thinking, dude, you just got busted cheating and now you're going to double or nothing and commit fraud as well.
Truth be told I find macro's to be a grey area, a good ol' twilight zone of moral ambiguity. On the one hand I respect that third party software should never be used in an ideal situation. On the other hand, anyone who's ever played the old SNS/CMWW wizard builds, or current WoW EB builds can attest that playing without a macro becomes increasingly frustrating, and even a painful experience.
So tl:dr, if there weren't any builds that'd "need" macro's in order to be played effectively, I'd say full ban on macro software. Until then I hope Blizzard condones it so that people can actually properly play and enjoy builds that Blizzard created. Or they could always implement a system that'd remove any need for clicking three buttons at a time ten times per second.
I have to point out, that your TLDR is as long as your text before it.... sooooooooo what gives dude?
I support banning botters. However, I am not upset about it because the current implementation of ROS, no one elses gear really affects me too much/
How does banning bot accounts once a fucking year help anything other than making the botters buy the game again $$$ The only way baning would be helpfull is constant warden updates every week. ban bots weekly not yearly.
My opinion, you guys are right Wight ladders and competitive aspects being implemented soon I too believe that blizzard will try to do a nice sweep to clean house of current botters. Now, with that being said I would assume when ladders go live, if anyone does dare to bot the system, they will lose there account very quickly. BoA doesn't allow them to keep there gear or gold, and I would think people don't want to lose there stuff.
On a side note, I'm also one of the people who don't really care about people that bot anymore. It really doesn't effect too much anymore. Yeah it gives them an advantage for loot nd stuff. And they can be the best for a month or two with there gear shining making me drool lol. But in the long run they will be wiped out sooner or later and all items farmed by botters will go with it. Kinda making botting not such a devastating act anymore.
Now. If I waz that guy who plays 24.7 and was number 2 in the world behind a guy who runs a bot, then yes, I would be furious. So, in all botting it wrong but it happens, it doesn't hurt the game like it used to, and hopefully botters will have enough respect for the game to not break ladders for everyone.
As for the article, blizzard beefing up there anti cheat system does indicate to me that ladders are on there way, but we all know ladders will be introduced "soon". Does the above mean ladders are coming like, within weeks? No, I don't believe so.
This is how I think it'll go :
Blizzard announces BOA , Launches RoS, lets the profit flow,,, players start giving negative feedback, blizzard revealed goodies to come to keep players here, IE, ladders, blizzard needs ladders to go smoothly because there most hardcore of players are going to give up all of there real life to try to be the best of the best, so blizzard revamps there anti cheat system , warden. (This is where we are now) after warden is beefed up they will have a ban wave, accompanied by a 10-20% off sale on RoS so they can buy new accounts, after the sale warden will Be watching and latter's should be nice.
Bots are the reason a lot of people quit playing games, good riddance and a barbarian spit on their graves.
The only games that I have ever heard of people quitting because of bots are those with economies that got completely FUBAR or skill games like FPS. For now though, there is no reason for anybody to quit because of bots because there is literally 0 impact on anybody else.
I'm rather old, quite possibly the oldest person in all of the Curse websites. In today's world I'm sure you're right. When I say bots I'm thinking about every damn macro running, stat building, God mode thieving f***ing bastard over the last 25 years that caused me frustration and anguish!
Cya!

Nice thread,
And seriously, it's just a matter of time untill they find a way around this and start botting again.
