Before ROS Id say I never had a shortage of Brimstones, (still have a ton just hanging out taking up space), however with ROS now out I never have any forgotten souls. One could look at this ina coupleways: 1. Legendaries are better now so I dont instantly make souls out of them...very true IMO, very happy with expansion. 2. I have to many lvl 70 toons and therefore Im always spending the few I have to enchant something...lol also true. However the only thing I can find that would make the game more enjoyable for me is if there were other ways to get the souls. There are a TON of uses for them and trust me I will use all those methods to spend them if I couild only get them. This leads me to the drops...I havent actually added them up, but Id say my legendary count is darn near 50%/50% on legs in rifts and bounties. Id actually dare to say I get more doing bounties than rifts. The thing is I dont want the drop rate of legs to go up or down or anything like that, Im actually happy with the drop rate...love that green beam!!! I just want to be able to utilize all the new mechanics of the game and cant for lack of souls. I love the fact that there are so many ways to gear, but they all revolve around having souls to either enchant a potential leg or craft one of the set items. BTW, I do understand that the rift guardian drops them on occasion...but there are plenty of other places a random soul could be fit in. Very happy with ROS. Keep the goodness coming.
I'd be very surprised if your supply of souls was less than your supply of brimstones. Yes legendaries are more likely to be good, but still, the drop rate has been increased so massively, you must have more unwanted legendaries.
The reason you have a shortage is surely that there is much more demand for them now. Rerolled a lot of legendaries at the Mystic lately?
Hmmm...interesting....i have tons of all mats except souls. I do use them, but honestly in 3-4 hours of playing i might get 2 legs and a couple from the rift guardian. I agree with the gold part...luckily i had a good supply pre ROS, its going fast though. Thanks for the info.
It's gonna vary a lot from person to person depending on what you find and what you want to do with it. I've had times where I just stockpile souls and never need to use them, and then I'll find something, or read about an interesting build that I want to try, and suddenly I'm pulling out the couch cushions trying to come up with any that I may have missed, or some Legendaries that I was hesitant to blow up before (I've been putting stuff aside for my Barb, but I keep salvaging it all when I run low).
Honestly I think the best solution would be to put them on Kadala maybe at 50 bloodshards a pop. I forsee her outliving her usefulness at some point once you've obtained everything you're shooting for that isn't torment only. Meaning you'd eventually have an abundance of unspendable shards unless you're gearing an alt or something.
The game has been out a little over a month...it was the same when diablo 3 came out. You're rushing to reroll all your items to min-max because you're still actively picking up new items...
Really, you guys. It's chicken little around here, all day long. No joke people had a glut of brimstones- they were the resultant from 2 years worth of level 60 legendaries, and no enchanting sink. Give this game another few weeks and months; they are going to tweak this thing and those drops incessantly- this is Blizzard after all, people ought to know they can't keep their hands off the pendulum.
Uhhhh I received a grand total of two legs by myself in vanilla, both on an alt. There was no "glut of brimstones" unless you were playing the AH, which, by the way, not everyone did.
Please don't post if you don't know what you're talking about, legendaries were a little bit rarer back then <3
Hey Bad/Radglad, when you go swimming, does your entire body shrink?
I didn't play the AH in the least. Legendaries got blown up because they were all too often inferior to well-rolled Rares. Yes, they weren't *as* common back then, but your anecdotal evidence is of the same woeful merit as mine, so I fail to see how you've manufactured this constipated brand of authority.
I was pretty frustered by it. I had amassed 200+ brims and now I have to use this other material? Personally I think they should implement 1-2 more drop points for Forgotten Souls. Maybe have a chance for them to drop from Diablo.
