Why Don't you Ignore others and mind your own game OP?
I don't mind other players, I mind playing with friends and having fun.
Downsides of normal farming;
low amount of xp (they will have lower paragorn lvl than you)
could not get torment only set item
could not get imperial gems (currenty gems are quite expensive to upgrade)
low amount of gold when compared with other difficulties
so if you mind your own game instead of whining you'll get more benefits playing harder difficulties.
I like how pretty much everyone in this thread ignored the biggest "cheese" of them all that makes the "normal cheese" look like child's play. I'm talking about core runs on T6. So what do you think OP, is that ok? To farm chests just because it's on T6?
I bet OP is farming chests on T6 as we speak. But that's ok because it's not cheese, it's on T6. Only people who play on normal don't deserve to have anything good drop for them because they are casual and OP is so hardcore.
I fail to see how this has any impact on you personally whatsoever. Join the rest of us Farming Torment and ignore the people who don't want set items.
Integrity of the game. Also, the people willing to do this, due to Blizzards bad designe will end up being rewarded more than those playing the "right" way.
And yes, there is a right wat to play these kinds of games, no matter how much the lazy people try to convince people there isn't.
To expand a bit, unless someone is blatantly cheating by definition, how does some individuals play styles in any way affect you and the way you play? The integrity of the game is to kill monsters to get loot. Nothing more and nothing less. Difficulty has nothing to do with that beyond the individual. So unless your not killing monsters to get loot, you are playing the "right" way.

Diablo 3 is a not competitive game, What I mean is that when I log on it does't effect me if other plays have better gear. So let people play how they want to play. I like running in higher torments to test my character. If others want to play in a easy setting because they like it that way, let them.
1. The game has 10 difficulty settings to accommodate a wide range of skills, playstyles, and gear.
2. Among all the classes and before RoS, there were 3,458,682,438,000skill combinations. That number has only grown since RoS because of the Crusader and 61-70 skills.
3. There are more legendaries than before with more of them that have effects that make you change the way you play.
Taking 1-3 into account, everyone needs to chill out and just play how they want to play. If you like farming normal with XYZ build or Torment 6 with ABC build, then I don't really give a crap. I'll join your game to play with you in your style if I feel like it, or all go farm Torment 1 solo in QRS build.
People need to stop worrying about stuff that isn't related to things that are actually breaking the game (like coding bugs) and just enjoy the trillions of different ways that Blizzard has offered us to play the same game.

How does it affect your game? What others do on an online only game can and will affect your game, whether you want it to or not. I'm not talking about envy, people need to get over that. I'm talking about trying to play with others and they too have been sucked in by the lure of EZ loot.
This is an online only game. Hence the primary structure of the game is presented to encourage playing with others. When damn near everyone on your friends list and in your clan are ONLY running normal split bounties......... it can and will affect your game.
"Hey ya wanna run some T2 rifts?"
"Nah...I'm doing split bounties on normal. Man it's super easy and you get WAY more loot than in Torment."
or...
Guy who plays as the game intended; "Hey, check out this awesome Inna's chest I got last night" (pings item)
Guy who cheeses through the exploits on EZ mode; "Ahh, that's nothing. I got like 4 of those yesterday. You has some shitty rolls"
It's just ....lame. There should never exist such a disparity between reward and difficulty.
I suppose people farming in Nightmare mode on Diablo 2 were greeted with derision too. Or not playing on /players 8 the entire time.
If people wish to tweak difficulty in order to allow themselves to better handle a higher difficulty at a later date, why is that a problem?
Farming gear is integral. Optimisation for farming efficiency and speed has always been a thing in Diablo.
I'll say again. There should never exist such a disparity between difficulty and reward. It's not healthy for the game to make people feel like they're wasting their time by not going toward exploits. As a player, I should never be tempted to lower the difficulty dramatically, knowing I'll receive far more rewards for doing so than I would if I was actually on an appropriate difficulty for my gear level.

That's really all there is.
Things like Mira, CotA, and Cursed Chest runs were broken because they completely invalidated everything else in the game. Differences in difficulties should be ironed out, obviously, but it's not nearly as big of a deal. I would argue that Core of Arreat zerging is much more of an "issue" that needs to be resolved than this issue because, again, it undermines the entire purpose of adventure mode - particularly bounties and rifts.
There will ALWAYS be slight imbalances and, frankly, I think that giving up access to Torment-specific items is more than sufficient of a downside and I'm not even really convinced that farming normal yields more legendaries/hour let alone competitive XP or gold per hour. I know I definitely don't clear Normal 4x faster than Torment 1. Maybe 2-3x faster, but definitely not 4x faster and that's mostly because I cannot increase my movement speed so no matter how much I can 1-shot enemies I still have a ceiling for farming speed.

Completely agree, but I'd really like to see evidence of this alleged disparity. With Cursed Chests, Mira, and CotA (and Core of Arreat zerging) it's very, very, very obvious. It just doesn't feel nearly as obvious (especially since people are giving up Torment-only items) in this case which is why I want to see some kind of empirical testing complete with quantitative results before I jump on the "FIX NAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" wagon.
I can't believe people still reply to this guy. Finder has 20+ posts complaining about common things in Diablo 3. I don't even think he agrees with his complaints... He is just a lonely kid looking for attention so he starts debates that he knows will draw it. Don't fall for it.
Should never according to whom? Why should you not be able to farm adequately if you much out gear a particular difficulty? Have a read again. This is not a new concept. It is a concept that formerly worked very well. This is a different approach to the same end. I'll mention also that there is sacrifice involved. You miss out on the opportunity for exclusive items. That is a deterrent in itself. Low difficulty is not an exploit. It is a method.
I'd like to add that I do believe that torment difficulty should have it's drop rates buffed (again), it's not particularly more abundant in its current iteration. But it's certainly noticeable.
