Recently I returned to the game after not touching it for over an year ( Lets just say I was disappointed with the game ).
Well... The game is a lot better now, and I am glad... But... Why the hell everything is account bound??? My buddies can't even craft an item and give it to me! Why can't my buddy who plays mage find a nice barbarian item and give it to me if he is not gonna use it!?
I tried to search google for answers but I wasn't successful, so thanks for your answers in advance guys.
it is to kill off all 3rd party trading for money.
as for the crafting nope that cannot be traded.
as for items found. if you and your friend was/is in the same game/party as yours when an legendary item drop you 2 will be able to trade/gift that item for up to 2 hours game time. but again only to the people in the party/game when the item dropped.
sure is annoying in the short term but it prolongs the feeling of finding stuff yourself. also items are closer together in power and the affix rolls are tighter also.
you should be able to play torment 1-2 at lvl 70 in only a few legendaries and rare items. as for the toughter stuff you will need a lot more optimized gear.
but at least we have the feeling of personal progression with the new loot system and rewamped paragon system.
so play with friends enjoy the game and trade legendaries.

In a way it was to neuter the underground RMT operations that infested the original game
Making high end items and gold bound to accounts meansbotting for gold and items is now much less productive and rewarding to botters etc. because you cant take all of your findings and offload them to the millions of players playing the game with a few simple mouse clicks.
This bends the idea of the whole game. Rather than seeking out items and wealth through menus, websites, forums and auction house
You seek them out by hunting monsters.....graceful as fuck on paper, maybe not quite so graceful in practice.
As mentioned the problem was with the trading - legal or otherwise. It made it about 100x's easier to go find the item you wanted from the auction - they HAD to make the drop rate shitty because any reasonable amount of legendaries per hour would put a million of them into circulation every day.
I would expect (although it hasnt been announced) that drop rates will improve somewhat as soon as the auction house dies. Most of the stuff is BoA anyway so I'm not sure why they would wait... but...
Gear progression from 60 to 70 will also hyperinflate the gear stats so much that any non-BOA legacy stuff will be so crappy by comparison its value will drop to near zero.
Blizzard has effectively killed off the rares, making them (yet again) nothing but trash to lug around and destroy for materials. Just go ahead and make rares BoA as well, please. The strategy of Legendary items being the only BoA is having a devastating affect on the other item types, as they [rares] are being purposefully gimped to prevent them from having any real money value.
And so we see here, BoA is actually making the loot worse, despite the affects such practices have on 3rd party transactions. This is not good for the player. I accept BoA, now....don't let BoA limit the item types.
If it's all about killing 3rd party trading for money then there is better ways to do it then completely killing trading between friends.
They can go the League of Legends style and just make it so that you can trade items with a friend who has been on your friend list for more than a month. Problem solved... This way trading with other players for items is almost impossible + Hacking the account and transferring everything to another account is also not a valid option.
And they already blocked gold trading.
All I really want is just to share an item between real life friends who can't play together for most of the time. I don't think that my type of players should be penalized so hard. Not to mention I can't craft items to my friends if I have a recipe that they don't - and they also can't provide me the mats to create said item.
Diablo has undergone a huge change... But I never thought it will hurt the casual players and their friends as badly as it is now.
What's the problem with actually working for your gear? I'm sorry you can no longer have your friends boost you or use your mom's credit card to gear up, but I really couldn't care less.
Now when you get good gear you can actually be proud and show it off to your friends and random strangers. Basically this is the same way gearing up works in every single MMORPG on the planet and imo can be very nicely applied to regular RPGs. It makes your accomplishments and time spent in the game a lot more valuable than before.

Just another case of everyone getting punished because a chunk of the player base would exploit it.
The devs specifically said that they don't want the friends list or clan exemptions because that will still shorten the life of the game.
When Joe's friend gives him a top 1% sword... approximately 99% of his sword drops will either be the same or worse. If that sword statistically takes 200 hours to find and you gave it to him at hour zero... You just doomed him to nerd rage and bitch about all his sword drops being trash for hundreds of hours.
What's the problem with actually working for your gear? I'm sorry you can no longer have your friends boost you or use your mom's credit card to gear up, but I really couldn't care less.
I really wish it was infractable to make such fucking asinine statements.
Not everyone who trades is a credit card warrior and it's outright ignorant and insulting to try to paint anyone who simply enjoys to trade with their buddies as some kind of "pay 2 win" person who ruined the game for you.
I like the new boa system. I hate the ah and I hated the old trading system anyway. It wasn't like diablo 2. to be honest I don't think I traded but once cause I didn't want to use the forums. it should've been available all in game.

If you want to trade with your buddies, PLAY WITH THEM. There is a 2 hour trade timer when grouped.
If you want to trade with your buddies, PLAY WITH THEM. There is a 2 hour trade timer when grouped.
I get that.
It's still astoundingly ignorant to say that someone who wants to trade is a credit card warrior. You do realize how horribly inaccurate that statement is, right? I, personally, enjoy trading. I've never bought a single item ever. In any game. Ever. Don't try to paint me as someone who whips out the credit card every time the going gets tough just because I enjoy trading. It's the epitome of ignorance.
Trading is fine as long as it does not become mandatory or the best way to get loot. It should be more of wow a nice weapon for a monk dropped and I do not play a monk but my friend does and this might help him so I either give it to him and sometimes he might have an item that benefits my character.
It should not really get to the point where we see spamming all the time of I need Windforce or Skorn or I have Skorn looking for best offer.
These types of games are meant to be about killing monsters and looting for items to make the killing of monsters easier.

I said you either get boosted by your friends (getting strong items from them rather than working for it yourself) OR you buy them for real money either by purchasing gold or the items themselves. Regardless of which person you are I detest them both. I believe you must earn your own items.

OR
You can trade items of equal value to both parties.
Stop trying to paint everyone who likes trading as someone who is either a leech or a credit card warrior. Retarded generalizations are retarded.

Those people are in a HEAVY minority and it's not worth it to keep the old trade system just for them because there are too many leechers and gold farmers with that system.
I think making everything BOA was a lame way to combat against 3rd parties selling gold, they've effectively ruined fairly big part of the game in my opinion. I figured with removing both the Gold AH and the RMAH they would effectively tackle that issue head on nicely. Sure you'd still have gold sellers but gold would be greatly devalued at that point and you'd have people trading items and gems back n forth to create a new market.
Now I didn't play the auction house but you've now taken every every single outlet for someone to get an upgrade they want want away without having to find or craft it. I'm a bit frustrated with how much they've managed to improve the game, yet fuck it up all at the same time. I'm not going to be buying RoS right away (due to grad school and work) but I hope they change their minds down the road once they see that it was a mistaken. Hell I'm even frustrated they can't even get PVP or at least some from or PVP (outside of the retarded arena) ingrained into the game.
For those that have stated you can trade with your parties or friends, what does that do for people who run solo? I pretty much play the game on my own time and really hate public games due to all the leeches so I'm stuck with no other option and I imagine there are thousands more who often just run solo.

That is the dumbest fucking way to rationalize someones point of view on why trading should be brought back into the game. " What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
