To be honest its a pretty solid idea, im loving reseting quests myself and that was without knowing sk had a guarantee drop. Its not like you can cheese it or anything since you must finish every single quest to be able to reset and you must have reset your own quest. So theres no real way to exploit it at all, its just a nice feature and on Diablo is something that finally make the final boss, feel like something you want to kill. Usually on a full clear at t3 i get 6-10 legendary, thats just one extra, but i like that its tied to a boss.
Id say at lvl 70 the final boss should also have that feature, doing all 5 act will still not net the legendary adventure mode does to begin with, but with that mechanic if you want to replay all quests, theres a little extra reward with it. More options is never a bad thing.
Maybe they should go even crazier and make it 4 Legendaries (one for each boss), but that only drop when you kill Diablo. That's a pretty decent incentive for me to re-do story mode and clear the entire game there's your "race to the finish" mode
Yeah its an interesting idea, im glad blizzard is liking it. Like i said i understand they want Adventure mode to be the best farm, so 4 legendary guarantee might be a bit much. 1-2 is more like it. Just enough so that you feel good about reseting your quest and playing the story, theres a little carrot to race, gives you one more option to break up from adventure mode.

So if you reset and do a full clear, when you kill Diablo you'd get 4 guarenteed legendaries, plus whatever he naturally rolls?

Yup technically you're getting a legendary for every "big boss" kill. If "reset quests" is only unlocked after killing Diablo, they could even make it drop on every boss kill (instead of waiting until you actually clear the entire game and forcing a 4-hour+ play session).
Yeah I really like this too. It gives more incentive to replay the story which blizzard spent so much time putting together. BUT, the 4 legionaries will have to be 5 when ROS launches.
Another nice thing they can do is reset all lore items. So when you kill a mob for the first time, you get Cain the other guy telling you about that mob (and books etc).

ok 4-5 legendery drops is bit high i would say 1 drop and chance to drop second one would be great since it is exploitable you can run the story mode normal with speed gear/build and just put torment when you kill diablo...although im already done the campgain twice all over again since im enjoying it but in RoS this feature wont be this useable since bounties i might use it once in a while just for the enjoying the story all over again but they should add it to diablo 3 for those who didnt buy RoS
I think 100% on every boss would be a bit too much, as many people will be able to finish the entire story on Torment 1 quite quickly - so it might break the game or even force everyone to do this. I don't like any mechanics that forces player to do a certain thing. I think someone proposed an interesting solution: make it 100% at Diablo and 50% (or 25%) on other act bosses.
But I personally absolutely love this feature, we did a full clear on Torment 3 yesterday (lowered it to T2 at the end of act 2 as we all hate that act :P). I got about 10 levels and 10 legendaries or so doing that, and countless other mats (we cleared almost every area entirely and opened every chest, in case you're wondering why "so many legendaries").
Our full clear probably took something like 6 or 7 hours, but we also did a lot of chatting and cleared many areas entirely. But you can finish it quite quickly on lower difficulties, I ran through Normal pre-patch with my TR monk in no time (2 hours or so?), and if you have a group splitting up and searching for exists in mace-like areas (the spider cave in act 1) you can even be faster. That's why I think having 4 legendaries guaranteed for a playthrough are too much; people always find a way to "exploit this", and eventually running through everything and ignoring mobs might be "more efficient" than killing stuff. Right now, this is not the case. And right now, this is also just an option that few people do, it's not a "must". The XP return is pretty great actually, many people underestimate this (and overestimate Mira's; Blizzard is looking into Mira and if it was really two times more efficient than anything else, it would've been hotfixed just like Cursed Chests).
Yeah I would be 100% behind reset quests giving you a 100% drop on all the act bosses. 6/7 hours played for a guarentee of 4 legendaries seems fair really. It's not like you can super farm it and total gear up in under a day

That's basically turning 1 legendary per hour from the standard drop rate into 1.5 legendaries per hour.
That would be a sufficient swing such that farming story mode would be the ONLY way to do it because those bonus legendaries would clearly out-stripe the blood shard gambling not to mention that it would clearly incentivize people who can clear T6 to turn it down to T1 so they can collect their 4 (or 5) guaranteed legendaries quickly.
It took me 8-9 hours on T3 as a WW barb. I actually killed every elite i ran into and did 3-4 of the really good spawned dungeons for extra loot & XP. Ended the campaign with 14 Legos (got lucky) and a few levels (with 50% bonus).
I would do it again, even without the SK drop its a fun way to play.

How quick could we farm 25 bounties.
Valuable numbers for deciding how many legs should drop...
