I did not play on the PTR, and avoided as many videos as I could to retain the feeling of it being "new". I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised by the patch so far. The graphics are crisp, visually very nice looking. The changes definitely do take some getting used to. No more steam rolling through a wall of mobs, but I think I will enjoy this new play style more in the long run. Got my first legendary after about 20 minutes, not too bad. Granted the item wasnt great lol. Im very happy with this so far. Well done Blizz!
I actually enjoyed it so far. I got a leg bracers, gave me like a slight damage boost, also has no damage taken if enemies are stunned. So I've been toying around with my mantra's. Dashing strike the last rune, ohhhh so sick!!!!! I have totally thrown the cookie cutter build out the window. I'm definitely stoked for ROS to come and much better items in the long run. I played my monk, torment 1, then tried torment 2 with my DH, ha got beat like a beoch. Had to scale back, still toying with builds, feels way more fresh though.
I'm liking it. I've found five legendaries already. That about doubles the amount I've found before the patch went live. But I feel weak with my barbarian. His damage feels low and with the nerf to the whirlwind build, I don't know what kind of build to go with him. On the other hand, my wizard is getting stronger, not level 60 yet, and I have a fire build around some items that increase fire damage or a skill involved in it like Meteor.

I don't always burn. But when I do, I use hellfire.
This is the patch Diablo 3 needed. I was skeptical, but this game ROCKS! Leveling is so much smoother now, you keep finding upgrades and cool legendaries that indeed can change your spec, although I haven't personally got one that did. I have got a shoulder upgrade (was better than my crafted one) that makes all my gear indestructible, no biggy, but still fun! The crafting bracers (Razorspikes) give a +% on elemental spells, which is pretty nice, and made me switch a few Runes around. Very fun so far, alot of good rares and alot of legendaries, in about 3 hours, i got about 10 (although some were from 100% boss drop).
My BoA trifecta gloves were darn near beat out by a pair of Magefist gloves only 30 minutes in.
I haven't had time to really sink my teeth into it, that will happen this weekend. However, my first impression has been above expectations. I will say, I don't like the increase in globes/globe types and shrines. I don't want my character buffed like I'm grabbing 'power-up' bulbs on an arcade game. I prefer my char be powered by my skills and my gear, not by shrines and globes.
A small complaint, just mentioning the only aspect of the "new" D3 that I don't care for the direction of. Positive notes; My PC barely handles the game and doesn't quite meet requirements, however, last night my game was running polished and smooth. It looked better, it played better. Not 30 minutes in I got a good example of how finding a piece of gear spurs one to fiddle with the skill-bar. The Magefists I found had some 450+ dex and 360+ vita with 15% fire damage (as well as 6% IAS). So I tweaked my build to pop fire damage on all fronts and it was kinda neat to play with the build on the back of a single drop. Much to look forward to over the coming years with this type of character building mechanics. My MP 10 Monk fared well on Torment II. However, I was very happy to see him quickly vaporized on T5. Gonna need some gear for that, I suppose. Can't wait to get setteled and take my HC chars out for a spin. For the mean time, it's not safe ......

^ this, no doubt not a fan of the new globes or power shrines (although those are exclusive to neph rifts)

But so many skill changes, none of the builds feel the same at all. Just gonna take some time to get use to the class changes
