Does anyone like that? I don't even know what kind of item that might be if something like "Slash Hack" drops. Could be a sword, could be a 1h xbow, I'd have to check. I'd prefer the item type being displayed and then id'ing it if it's a type I deem worthy of picking up.
I think it's a pretty trivial distinction since Rares aren't that useful anymore anyway(thus their no longer needing to be identified). My guess is you'll pick them all up just for salvage ingredients and it won't really matter what they are once you're fully decked out in Legendaries. But yes, the ideal solution is to see their type on the ground and their name after you pick them up.
Well, watching that treasure goblin swarm video, it looks like there's an option to have items drop without names and instead icons of what they are, just like on console. That should solve that problem.

No way, those icons are really bad and intrusive. I'll be turning them off.
You totally don't have to like them, but how are they intrusive? Not only do they instantly tell you what slot the item is / what rarity, but they take up less space than the name of the items / item type.
If you haven't tried console yet to test em out, you should I thought I wouldn't like them but after playing for a bit I like them over an items name.
Its stated that you can change the settings in game to display the item's slot picture (exactly the same as it currently in on console) instead of its name. As far as i'm concerned this should be by default with the option to display the name.
