I have taken a break after I hit 60 and they nerfed a lot, but i am back for the xpak. I was wondering what would be a better path to take to prepare for the expansion. Here is my situation: 60 Barb and 60 DH, barb is paragon level 38 while DH is low, like 11? I have great gear on my barb, not so great on my DH, and have about 67 mil left. Which would be the best path?
1) Just focus on my barb to paragon level 100 and try to farm crafting mats and have best gear to go into RoS with?
2) Gear up my DH with that 60 mil and farm paragon levels on both so I dont get bored, and so I have 2 geared 60s?
3) Just try to get all classes to 60 and skip paragon for now?
I have seen many videos on this and it says to get all classes to 60 then start stashing away gold and crafting mats (which will be worthless) and rubies. Would stashing rubies be profitable?
I am very confused when it comes to preparing for this xpak, and I want to be ready!

Your gear won't matter when the xpack hits. Paragon experience will carry over, though, so feel free to level up as many characters to p100 as you like.
As for gold, mats, and gems, nobody really knows how valuable they will be. You may have a nice stash to work with or it may end up being a waste of your time.
Other than that, just do what you enjoy. Go for achievements, get all classes to 60, get some hellfire rings, whatever.

Thank you very much for your quick response!
I was thinking about getting some hellfire rings also, should I equip it on the character paragon farming, even if its a dps/health/protection decrease?
Do you think I would also be able to level up classes and get to paragon 100 on every class before the xpak hits?

Depends on how much of a decrease it is, but if your only goal is paragon farming, then yes it's probably worth it.
Do you think I would also be able to level up classes and get to paragon 100 on every class before the xpak hits?
It's certainly possible, but you've got your work cut out for you. Remember that 10x100 will not give you paragon 1000 instantly once the xpack hits. I think someone said it's like 375. Also, since you will likely be getting much more xp at level 70 than currently, getting that far will probably take less time overall after hitting 70, rather than doing it all now.
Bottom line, as long as you still playing a character less than p100 you are still getting xp that will carry over to your account-wide paragon level in RoS. So feel free to keep chugging until you get bored.
The big question is: will Blizzard add a Ladder season system that will require you to create new level 1 characters like in diablo 2 making everything you do on current characters useless.
Paragon EXP carries over to NL when a ladder finishes so you never stop progressing on NL even if you only play ladders.

Thats true, that is why im debating whether or not to grind my other characters to 60, so I can focus on my two 60s now.

Assuming they don't change it. Assuming they even put ladders in the final version.
Bottom line: we don't know yet how much you're really going to get out of anything you do between now and RoS. So any "preparation" you make now could potentially be wasted, or just not worth your time.
If you're still having fun, keep playing. If not, you aren't going to miss out on anything important if you just wait.
Thats true, that is why im debating whether or not to grind my other characters to 60. And also, when you are progressing to 70 do u get paragon xp too? is that what u meant when you said
since you will likely be getting much more xp at level 70 than currently, getting that far will probably take less time overall after hitting 70, rather than doing it all now.
Getting 5 (or even 10) characters to 60 is pretty easy. Especially if you use a hellfire ring. Getting them all to p100 is the hard part.
The way I understand it now is that when 2.0 hits, all paragon xp earned will be converted to the account-wide system, giving you a new paragon level based on how much xp you earned across all your characters. Any level 60s that you play on will continue earning paragon xp. When you install the xpack, your max level changes to 70, and you will not earn paragon xp while leveling from 60 to 70. Once a character hits 70, they will once again start earning paragon xp.
My point is that it will be more efficient getting paragon levels at 70 rather than at 60. So while you will get a headstart by grinding out the paragon xp now, whether or not that's worth it is up to you.
As I said above, if you're still having fun, keep playing. If not, don't worry about it.
The big question is: will Blizzard add a Ladder season system that will require you to create new level 1 characters like in diablo 2 making everything you do on current characters useless.

Yeah, Flavio, this would only apply for people who plan on playing Ladder exclusively.
If I ever play Ladder, it'll be once in a blue moon, and I'll still have the characters that are important to me, which are my Softcore characters. Until I get a strong foundation of Paragon Level Hardcore Characters, those won't be my immediate priority, and I'm actually going to wait to level them any further until I get to Patch 2.0.1 (the pre-expansion patch that comes before the release of Reaper of Souls), as the gear and XP will probably be more profitable than just grinding away at the base we have now, Campaign Mode.
That being said, Flavio...there's no way Ladders will be "required." No way. Not everyone like playing Ladder, and there's no way something like that would be required. In some of the datamined screenshots, when you create a new character, you can check a box if you want it to be a Season character or not. What that says to me is...Softcore will have its own Paragon Level...Hardcore will have its own Paragon Level...and while I don't know how long D3 ladders will run for (like Miles said, if they even go through with implementing them), there's a Ladder Paragon Level as well, but that gets reset when a new ladder starts.
I agree with Miles for the most part...if you're still having fun, keep it up, if not, take a break as you're not missing a ton. Loot is getting a major overhaul, so trying hard to farm some great item now is a bit pointless, as it won't take long to see great items in the expansion(s). Paragon XP grinding isn't a bad idea, as at least that carries over numerically. The conversion into Shared Paragon Level may be a bit stretched, but it still carries over. That's what I'm doing with my Plvl 75 Monk. I'm not specifically trying to get him to Paragon level 100, but if he gets there before Patch 2.0.1, well, all the better, :-)
Although, if you have Alts that you'll want to work on in the expansion, it would be a good idea to get them to 60. You can gear them up if you want, but even with Auction House gear, you're still bound to find better stuff in the expansion.
That being said, Flavio...there's no way Ladders will be "required." No way.
They won't be required. But depending on the incentives, they may be the only viable choice, like it was in D2. Let's just hope they don't go down that road again.

I guess it's just how I personally view Ladders as a kind of side-mission like task, but it really depends on how important it is for a particular person to play Ladders that makes how viable it is.
I remember Ladder only runewords...truthfully, looking them up online was the most disorganized thing I've ever done in gaming. I'd try to make some, when I had one of the couple of Ladder characters I've actually made, and they never worked. Ever.
And given how runewords tended to be pretty overpowered anyways, I kinda doubt D3 Ladders will have stuff like that. PRIZES, maybe. That'd be cool. You win the Ladder at the end, or at the top by the end, you get some really awesome piece of gear you can't get anywhere else.
But that wouldn't be viewed as a viable gearing method, that's just a reward for good performance, :-)

And that's exactly how it should be! So long as the piece of gear isn't BiS... then people will still view ladders as the only way to min/max properly - and that's exactly what we have to avoid.
1) Focus on gems. We know they will carry over and that there are new tiers.
2) Get as many Paragon levels as you can. More Para levels=More para points to spend in the x-pac
3) Horde your gold. We know there will be many gold sinks in RoS, and there won't be an AH to buy it off of anymore. Remember, you also have a new Artisian to level, and it appears that the BS and JC are getting two new levels. And it costs gold to level them.
Focus on these, and you will be in a good position come RoS.

I see the line in the sand. Time to find out who I am. Looking back to see where I stand. Evolution.
- current gems are useless (marquise gems are common loot),
- current mats are useless (you cant use it for any gear past lvl 60)
- current BIS - 2,000,000,000 by pieces gear is mostly useless around lvl 64-65,
- gold - it's hard to tell right now becouse some values in pre-alpha looks like PH (place holders),
- paragon lvl (xp in general) - for lvl 100 paragon you need like 96 mln between lvl 99 and 100 in RoS, now you need around 330 mln, still i think it's worth to lvl up till 100 few characters right now.
I still think Blizzard want flush all current commonities - so there is big chances those gems are real loot.
