Hey guys just wanted to share my video about my thoughts on Reaper Of Souls and my theory crafting of new builds that will be necessary after the expansion/nerfs.
If you would take a few mins to watch it you wont be disappointed!
Diablo is not a MMO you don't have tanks and shit. there is NO AGGRO in Diablo... i stopped watching this as soon as he started saying holding AGGRO when he rends. Just another WoW player thinking Diablo is a MMO.

The way he says "they're coming to me because I have AGGRO from Rend". You don't get "aggro", there is no "aggro" or "threat" generation in this. When you're in a group, monsters don't come to you because you have "aggro".
I'm sorry I don't usually post negative comments, but it just drives me up the wall when MMORPG players come to Diablo and feed incorrect information about the game.
Also you mentioned that there will be a second class, even after mentioning that Blizzard said there wouldn't be. Why should we take your word over Blizzards? The one's who created the game?
I do respect the fact that you've made a video in order to help people, I just don't like the information that you've put out with the video.

Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
I think it's a bit too early to be making theorycrafting for new builds when they're so very likely to change.
Example:
- When we're told that Ancient Spear with Harpoon is great, especially when combined with the No Escape passive.
That's very true, they are a good combination. But after reading the data-mined info (while taking into consideration that they're very likely to change) the No Escape passive is being changed. So being able to spam Ancient Spear constantly will be no more.
Perhaps OP didn't read it in the recent info, I think they really should have had a good look at it when making a theory-crafting video revolving around making new builds when RoS hits. Of course this point is moo if OP just assumed that it wouldn't be changed. Which is fine!

Lets put it this way , every expansion is usually considered NEW FRESH start , so spending millions on crafting materials is probably a bad move because when crafting with the new expansion comes there will be new crafting mats.
Remember these crafting mats are for level 60 items and new expansion is gonna introduce new tiers of items with higher ilvl , so all those crafting plans are useless too.
New builds - it is way too early to think about them now , no skills or items have been finalized , it is all changing all the time and in half a year many many things will change that anything you can come up with now will probably make no sense as soon as next PTR patch hits.
Also with the new expansion and ladders , it is gonna change , I never play non ladder because of the gold inflation and items inflation , I like the ladder reset to give everybody a clean slate.

D2 had threat tables so that mobs could decide on which player to chase. There were a lot of variables involved, including gear and level, but I think you get the point
I don't even agree with the OP, but people that have no clue on how the mechanics of a game work shouldn't try to make others look like idiots.
I do remember to see a blue post or a video of one of the devs talking about how diablo is not a tank / heal game. and that there is no threat. I could be wrong. better edit it cuz someone like you will think all of Diablo. but we are talking about Diablo 3 so i'll put the 3 at the end for the smarter people.
There are too many hostile natured posts in this thread. Could you at least be a little more constructive and helpful/nice in your criticisms instead of just getting upset at the OP. There are too many posts in here dripping with disdain.
Instead of getting bogged down on whether or not there is threat generated in D3, I appreciate the OP's effort in creating the video. I agree that a lot of players will be surprised by the extent that the game will change with the expansion. While I will miss the convenience of the AH, if Blizz does this right, the hunt for loot will take center stage again. This will be a completely different game with RoS.

People can post what they want, as long as it's on topic and not just insulting the OP. One thing I ask you, have you watched the video? OP just seems to be misinformed of the current events (data-mining info, general info about the expac) and that's just unacceptable when it comes to informational videos like this?
considering that there is a skill that TAUNTS for 3 seconds, there has to be some threat tables in game.
Perhaps there is threat generation or some kind of threat table in D3, if I'm wrong in thinking there isn't then I'm totally cool with that.
A few points I gathered after watching this video:
You don't know what the level cap is in RoS.
You still think that there is another class coming out and that we should take you word for it over Blizzards.
You tell us how you spent millions on getting current crafting mats, the current level 60 crafting mats will become obsolete don't you think?
It's way too early to be theory-crafting about builds. Wayyyy too early.
You don't seem to have read any of the data-mined info, which is a must if you're going to make a theory-crafting video about builds.
At the end of the video you say you should go and read the data-mined info before making other videos on other classes. I think you should have read it before making this one.
It's great that OP has gone out there and made a video to help people out, good on him. But darn it if you're going to do it, do it right.
My advice to OP would be to read the data-mined info before making any kind of theorycrafting videos.

This is a forum for opinions and discussion on Diablo III. Not necessarily speaking your mind. If in my mind, I thought you or the OP were idiots (which I'm not actually saying, it's just an example), would I vocalize that in the forums? No, I would not, because it's rude & unnecessary, and will probably get your post moderated. So this being a forum to just "speak your mind", I do not completely agree with. I was just pointing out that a few of the first posts made in this thread directed at OP were unnecessary.
And yes I watched the video. No I didn't agree with most of it obviously because I've read all the datamines. I agree more with your post than any of the other posts in this thread.
To get on topic, I agree that OP should have thoroughly read all the datamines before making this video, because you don't want to mislead other users with information that's wrong. And in my opinion, when you're having discussions with datamined information, you should tell people that all of this could be completely different upon release. And build theorycrafting right now is pretty much useless because between the first datamine and the current one, a lot of the skills values have changed. But it can be fun to do it for the hell of it, just to have a little fun being creative.
To the people saying that there is no "AGGRO" in this game. There's no way you (or I) can know that without access to the monster AI files. To my knowledge, Blizzard has never discussed that one way or the other. We could do extensive testing in the game and maybe come to a educated conclusion that way. Other than that, I wouldn't say things unless you actually definitively know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they're true. If anyone knows or has detailed information on that, I'd actually be really interested to know whether that is true or not.
To the OP, I think next time before you make a video, make sure you know all of the available information about the game, and things that you don't definitively know, make sure you let the audience know that it is just your opinion. Otherwise you risk coming across as a know-it-all.

This is quite old, I'm sure someone else has done more testing after that. I spent the first few months of D3 being a pure tank barb and from my perspective aggro is not reliably controllable (which is why I switched to wizard). It's really not like aggro was never a topic, it was actually discussed in depth about a year ago, one of the reasons why I joined this forum ;-)

there is some kind of aggro in game mobs tend to go on highest dps in party they not go on first player next to them.u can just simply test that.
Yeah, maybe you just read the post I've linked. Hint: the mobs can't smell your DPS. Before you hit anyone monsters will approach the first player you see. And as Bashiok said, DPS can trump this proximity threat.

didnt read but know when my arcon start hiting mobs from range they almost 50% or more of them goes on me since they can `fell` highest treat to them .
Ethezial
So there is some kind of aggro or threat generation? Well excuse me while I just go eat my words.
EDIT: Also I apologize to OP about the comments about there being no aggro!
