Am I the only one who doesn't like the fact that we're forced to visit streams for exclusive news?
I don't know, it's not like they only announce stuff via streams or overdo it. Also, there are usually vods (like Archon's). But I understand where you're coming from.
I'm still waiting for some confirmation that this is legit, and when is Athene going to post that.
If there's exclusive information in an interview on DFans, IncGamers or anywhere, it can still be copy/pasted 1:1. But this way I'm kinda forced to rely on the summary that DFans will (hopefully) provide or I'm forced to watch Athene myself... and let's be honest, he's not everyone's flavor...
But he hardly ever trolls in these interview videos, they're not so bad.
I won't be able to access any kind of video for a couple of hours anyways, so would be nice if someone can just summarize the main points about Nephalem Trials here (once the video is up), thanks.

Interesting. I have to admit, I've never seen him being serious (I mean, his trolling about WoW/D3/... comes across as if he was being serious, so it's hard to distinguish). Maybe I'm gonna watch this when I have time and access, would be interesting to see the real guy behind his troll character.

You know we will do that
Yeah, just pulling your leg. C'mon, start transcribing already. Just guess what he's gonna say

Whether or not an individual video is bad or not doesn't mean that I want to be part of traffic driven to Athene's revenue stream reinforcing what he does in the other videos.
Yeah the video is up in it's entirety and he plays the demo after the interview. Nephalem Trials are explained by JM as a type of challenge mode that vary from time trials, Horde-type wave challenges, etc.
He also reveals more paragon stats that we will be able to customize
Crusader gets blessed hammer, and the skill describes exactly how the D2 version worked!
Each paragon level your account earns gets you one point to spend into whatever stat allocation you want. The awesome part is, you actually get a point per character, it's not like a shared pool of points. So when you account is paragon say 50, you can hop on your main, allocate 50 points to what you want, and then hop on as many alt slots as you want and play with 50 points per character.

I honesly couldn't care less whether his "charity thing" is legit, or about his trollish videos.
Do it as you will, but you can't deny he did put out one of the more complete interviews out there. He made some really well put questions ("so, the expansion is coming out next year, right?" and "so you're keeping something for Blizzcon, obviously"). I really liked it.

I absolutely agree. His interview was a joy to watch, he had really well-phrased and good questions, and therefore the answers he got were so much better than those of the Gamona interview (terrible, the entire interview made me cringe...).
His charity thing is very legit and he's the number 1 donating streamer. He won a few hundred thousand, I believe, on poker and from what I remember donated everything, not 100% sure anymore. He also does science research and so on. Also spends the majority of his time theorycrafting so that he can then troll masterfully. To truly troll you first have to know something to perfection and he is the king of it.

Very well said. I only followed him when he came to fame in the early days of WoW, and behind all that trolling and silliness he was always a really serious gamer and an amazing professional. That interview was great.

Great, he should spend more time doing things like that and less time thinking up cheap publicity stunts and ways to send his hoard of followers out to spam sites and drive traffic to his stream.

All that most people know of Athene is the tiny window they view him through. I don't follow him, not a fan. But I've seen and heard enough of him to be aware of him. He seems like a decent, intelligent young man that carved a neat little niche for himself doing something he loves.
Back to Nephalem Trials;
This end game aspect is the most intriguing to me of all the systems introduced. I truly hope the devs let their imaginations run wild on this idea and they present us with something far more impactful and dynamic than the Uber event, which fell a little flat.

I can't agree more. D3 is in dire need of complexity, and systems that will appease to a somewhat hardcore type of player for a prolonged period of time. These Nephalem Trials certainly seem like a place where you can go completely off the rails and use your imagination to craft a meaningful and rewarding experience.

I'm so stoked about these Nephalem Trials!
I hope Grimiku wasn't trolling yesterday or I'm gonna be considered a troll lol
