And although PvP was (and is) an important aspect for some players in the Diablo universe, it is and will never be the main aspect. Their stance against competitive gaming and the announcement that they don't want to turn D3 into yet another e-sports game made that very clear. PvP will come eventually, but it's not number one priority (and probably not even number 2 or 3).
I think this stance has already changed within Blizzard, because they realized the fact that PvP has to be competitive in some way in order for it to be successful. It's obvious that they won't implement the system just for fun. Not anymore. It probably won't go the full e-sports route, but some sort of a rating system will be put in place, I have no doubt of that.

"Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the small death that brings total obliteration."
The main problem as I see it is that they refuse to release anything before the big itemization patch.. is not like they release minor stuff now and then.. no, they maintain radio silence. It's frustrating.
So true dev blogs which were supposed to be more frequent never came, and it seems like nothing big will happen in the rest 2013 for D3, which is a huge letdown for me (I just wanted something).
The density changes were awesome, but hardly "content related" from my point of view. I want PvP, skill/rune balancing (for new fun builds), new Legendaries, new uber-like Quests
Let's leave the rubberbanding discussion for another thread, please.
And why is this? I mean, even if they successfully implement a "decent" expansion with maybe a new class/offsider/revamped legendaries .... if the RUBBERBANDING is still present, my gameplay will be hampered, hence bringing my frustration back to the level it currently is with the lack of enthusiasm from Blizzard to actually resolve a problem that has been present for lets say .... 6-8 months now?
Let's leave it for another thread firstly because itisoff-topic. The interview and itemization have absolutely nothing to do with "rubberbanding", it's a completely different issue.
Secondly because no matter what, some people will always have issues with an online-only game. I've had a shitty internet for over 6 years before changing into my current ISP. The "signal to noise ratio" here improved from 1-5 snr to 35-45, at 6 times the previous speed.
I had rubberbanding before. Now I have none. So there's a very very big chance that most rubberbanding issues are caused by router/internet/isp issues, and there's not much Blizzard can do about that.
I quit playing this game about a month after release because lets be real it was god awful. I installed it about a week ago, and man it really hasn't made much progress. Were talking about a game that has been out for over a year and itemization is still broken, and were being told cya in 2014? Its a loot game, based on items and finding cool stuff...........what a waste of IP.
I have no idea how these people plan to sell an expansion.
Uninstalled again, will be back next year maybe by then this loot games loot won't be pathetic.
I'll just add this little gem for thought, Actiblizz has acknowledged that this game is loot driven, and that loot sucks, so how are they O.K with releasing a game with these types of problems for console shouldn't fixing the game ruining issues take priority over lining pockets with more money?
Blizzard is one of the most prestigious companies you can work at as a game designer/developer. They have the right people. They have the best people.
In case you haven't noticed, D3 is not a monthly subscription game. They don't have a bazillion dollars.
Incase you didn't notice.. Blizzard sold an unfinished game which they are still trying to fix. And guess what, they broke sales records.
So yes, they do have a bazillion dollars. And D3 is a prime example of not having the right people for the job.
Hey, I still enjoy D3 button common...
The rest of your posts was ignored due to extreme fanboyism. I mean, are you seriously defending their slowness at putting in an ID all options? Duude?

Learn the difference between good arguments and fanboyism, because otherwise you'll have to learn the words trolling and flaming and what they entail.
I'm trying to wrap my head around how they could possibly release a console version that they've said will have to have less loot on the ground due to the input method before they release the patch that makes it so that less loot drops but the loot that does drop is higher quality. Do they plan to just give console less of the current crappy loot, or pray that they can finish the itemization redesign before console starts getting high MF, or maybe less of the current loot but make it only roll high affix ranges? However they handle it, it will still be very weird for console owners to get a huge patch that completely changes loot right after they start playing instead of having it from the start.
There is so much poison in this thread, I now regret going back to read every post.
Here's a thing, and I'm not trying to insult Blizzard or anything. But by now, people who have paid any attention to Blizzard's way of putting out products and services should have realized that they don't release things until they're ready. And instead of releasing something they (as an entertainment company) feel isn't ready, they straight up won't release it. I'm looking at you Starcraft: Ghost.
And while many consider Diablo III to be "incomplete" or still in "beta," it's a fully functional game. In regards to patches, this is the same deal. We've seen how long it took for some patches to come out, even weeks or months after a blog was published. Or how long PTR sessions last before the actual patch hits the live servers.
PvP in whole may not be ready, which is why it's not out (IIRC PvP was meant to be released in patch 1.1. We're in patch 1.08). However, brawling was ready and that was released first. Speaking optimistically, you can't rule out that some "aspect" of revamped itemization can be released before the next major overhaul a la 1.03 legendaries. We can be disappointed, but that's not going to change anything. Gameplay comes first and that's what they're working on. They're committed to quality and there's no such thing as quality without time put in. Even if time means months after months.
There are a lot they could do to make items more compelling for now without revamping the whole system (like making secondary affixes stronger, and making the effects of off-class stats more compelling [dex, str, int]).
I wouldn't even mind if they kept the whole item revamp to the expansion (considering it's as huge as they say it is, and not just "less items drops and stats now roll between 190-250 only" as they hinted previously).
They've also shown they have a clue on how to make Legendary items better and making other Gems viable (with Rubys on weapons), so it's just a matter of following that same trend again
November? That's 5 freaking months..... on TOP of all the time that has passed since the last big content patch... AND that's a positive expectation. A more realistic one would be next year's March.
First time since launch that I'm actually hugely disappointed with a Diablo 3 related news.
I just hope skill and rune changes don't take this long as well, this game desperately needs more of those to keep things slightly fresh.
Lets just pray that the reason behind the delays are they have something in store for us they haven't mentioned. That's what I make myself believe and by time I'm completely let down (hopefully not) there will be a new patch to mix up the old content just enough to make me play a little bit longer.
P.S. I feel like I can't go anywhere without seeing your posts lol.
And instead of releasing something they (as an entertainment company) feel isn't ready, they straight up won't release it. I'm looking at you Starcraft: Ghost.
Not to forget Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans
Another thing many people forget is that D3 was not in development for 10 years and the team didn't have the experience from D1/D2. Almost the entire team was switched out in 2007 and the project reset to zero (because up until then D3 was meant to become an MMORPG).
And yeah, Blizzard has always been slow, so I don't really get why so many people are so disappointed here - I'm "a bit" disappointed as well, but I can't say I didn't expect this. At some point people started talking about itemization being included in 1.09 although there was absolutely zero evidence for it. From all the itemization journals and blue posts it sounds like such a major change that I don't expect it to hit before the expansion.
However they handle it, it will still be very weird for console owners to get a huge patch that completely changes loot right after they start playing instead of having it from the start.
I think this is just people being unreasonably optimistic.
Sorry, couldn't resist. In my head, it was too funny.
Thanks for reading my post and highlighting my spelling mistakes.
But you understood the post i'm assuming? Want to contribute something other then a trolling post making yourself look like a dick?
A spell check will fix that. But the language you use now puts you in a category of people that will get a LOT more flame. You could have taken the high road and just go "Ok, my bad. Will fix the errors".
Well seriously i dont know why people are over-reacting.
Becuase there's no surprise here.Who in their right mind thought that the patch was coming soon??(Actually its coming "Soon")
Actually im happy because i thought it would take 2 years.(One learns to be optimistic in life after dealing with blizzard)

Well, I think theres 2 kinds of people.
People who basically hate D3 and just like waste their time hating D3 for days on end.
And people who enjoy D3, see its potential and wish blizzard would simply get something done to make things happen.
Itemization, balance, re-working useless skills in my opinion is an easy job. Considering all the feed back from the game being live for over a year this should be a cake walk.
I mean take WD Fetish Army. Who in their right mind can sit there and think a 20 second skill that barely does anything should have a 2 min cool down. I mean, zombie dogs last till they die, but the fetishes need to be somewhere more important in 20 secs..
Meanwhile, BATS.. A skills I never, ever see anyone really complain about gets tweaked out of no where?
In my books not enough is being done. And with all the slack D3 got its rather sad.
You contradict yourself. Fully functional =/= quality. PVP Arenas were "fully functional". They are not released.
Well, quality is in the eye of the beholder. At least there are crazy items out there and there are functional builds players can use. Plus. I don't think anyone can argue that the graphics and combat system is awesome.
And I don't think other aspects of PvP are ready, not based on what's seen in publicly released statements. Brawling is functional, we see that (although it's kind of eh). No idea what stage deathmatch was on when they decided to withhold it.
The game as it stands can be a lot better, we can't deny that, but that's why we get patches/expansions, etc.
P.S. I think about it this way. I can throw my wizard into MP10 Inferno without my gloves and bracers. She'll still be "fully functional," as in I can move around, kill things, and still have a shot at surviving. However, some people will consider her to be incomplete. So will I. In that case, I won't field her and let her sit in the menu screen... at least until she's ready (with all her gear).
I dunno, that sounded a lot better in my head. It works. SHH.
I don't even know what to say about this. When I realized that itemization was so bad back not long after release, I would never have guessed it would take two years to see *significant improvement.
Go kill yourself, Diablo 3. You fucking slow minded sloth motherfucker.

Didn't they say the console version won't delay any development on the PC game? It seems the opposite is true according to that interview..........
