Do you have to get/buy the new paterns for each creation of these two items or once you get each pattern do you just need to farm the materials? Like am I going to have to go back to act4 each time I want to create an infernal machine?
yes but the keys only drop with 5 NV and at a rate that is consistent with your MPL.
0=0% chance of dropping key after 5 stack
2=20% chance of dropping key after 5 stack
4=40% chance of dropping key after 5 stack
etc.
Lol you can get keys without monster power on. The chance for keys to drop does not scale linearly.
sorry about- xaime is correct, thought that was true about MPL 0. The MPL does increase the chance of keys dropping though.
"Players will be able to encounter the Keywardens in any difficulty, but only in Inferno and with a full five stacks of Nephalem Valor will they have a chance to drop pieces of the Infernal Machine. While Monster Power is not required, each level will increase the drop rate of both the keys and the plans by 10%, all the way up to a guaranteed 100% drop chance at Monster Power 10. "

Do we know exactly what is meant by this yet? It sounds like the numbers would add up if the chance was 50% at MP0, and then increased by 10% (of the base chance) for each MP level.
So 50%, 55%, 60% .. 100% at MP10.
I'm at work and won't be able to play 1.0.5 for some hours yet, though, so if anyone wants to share their experiences I'd be interested!
I'm pretty sure it means 10% chance at MP1, 20% at MP2, etc. In other words, it adds 10% base chance with each MP level, rather than making it drop 10% more often than the previous MP level, like 50% to 55%. Also that would mean MP0 = 0% chance and of course MP10 = 100%.

But MP0 = 0% contradicts the quoted statement "Monster Power is not required"
