If act 1 - 4 All drop the same iLvl gear. Then wouldn't running Act 1 be the most efficient? Act one mobs are way easier than act 3. The reason people run act 3 over act 4 is because the mobs are significantly easier for the same loot. So if the same loot drops in act 1 do you think people are still going to run act 3 - 4? Or am i missing something here?
When you enable Monster Power, creatures become monster level 63. MP1 on Act 1 is a substantial increase compared to MP0, where they are monster level 61.
Pretty much what pernunz just said. The monsters will be tougher than you might expect due to the higher mlvl, but they should be of equivalent difficulty to monsters in acts 3 and 4. They will be slightly 'easier' due to the simplified mechanics, but that's about it.
I thought they said that the monsters difficulty right now would be roughly the same compared to MP 2-3.
I just wonder how it will be in act 1 since I assume they are reffering to act 3/4 mobs.
Since I'm still running act 1 inferno (Hardcode mode) and doing it fairly easy I wonder how it will be if I set MP to 1 and continue in Act1?
Anyone any ideas about this? Haven't been on the PTR but I don't want to find out the hard way that it's too much for me and die...
You will get your butt kicked. MP0 Act 1 is the same as before, MP1 Act 1 is comparable to today's Act 3. MP0 Act 3 on the other hand has been nerfed a lot so it's quite a bit easier than before.

In 1.0.4 act 3 and 4 monsters are same level, but act 4 is noticeably harder.

Very true. Act 4 is a bitch. I hate that place There's so much long range spam, homing curses, and to top it all off every mob that can cast also hits really hard in melee. You can't win.
We're thinking on the same page, but I admit I understated my point. Actually.. maybe I should just never mention act 4 in comparison to the other acts because that place is bad juju. Stick to Acts 1-3, you'll be much happier that way.
I hadn't even thought about Whimsyshire, finally a reason to do it! I haven't even seen it since I first blew through it on Normal.
...but don't you have to have the game on Act 1-Hell to enter ponies? Or can you still go in on Act 1-Inferno. I don't remember. I thought the highest upgrade was the Hellish Staff Of Hearding.
Act 1:
Here I'm completely lost.
Obviously, the key run: Festering woods to get 5 stacks, and then off to fields of misery. Probably one could add Whimsyshire to the run...
I haven't done any sort of comparative analysis, but I've been thinking something like Cemetery / Crypts (for 5 stacks) -> Leoric's Manor (xp mostly) -> Whimsy -> Fields of Misery (for key)

I don't have the staff myself, but I can verify that Inferno ponies do exist. I think it's the Infernal Staff of Herding.

...and if you disagree with me, you're probably <insert random ad hominem attack here>.
Ok, then here's a noob question: I have the Hellish Staff, which I had to enter Inferno to get (the Plans). How do i make an Inferno staff (or is the Hellish staff useable in Inferno already). I'm horribly confused.

You buy the plans in inferno act 4, from the same vendor you bought the plans from in hell and nightmare. The only plan you find is the normal staff, from izual. You did not enter inferno to buy the hell plan, i think you are remembering incorrectly, hell plan is bought on hell difficulty.

I see, so there's actually an Inferno Staff Of Hearding. I would've never known this, since I'm not at Act 4 Inferno with any of my toons yet. Thanks for the clarity.

Hehe, act 4 is indeed a pain, it will be a nice challenge though, since its needed for the infernal machine
Personally i will do all the acts for the infernal machine, it will take a lot of time for most people to get a ring that is suited for their build, so i will be doing all the act in monster power 5 or 6.
