Seems like they are going from no loot for anyone at launch to no need to trade at all with these changes.
Had 7 legendary items on PTR in less than 6 hours of game time on MP3-10, mostly in MP5...before these changes.
This might not actually be a recent change. I saw Whirlwind being 10 Fury instead of 9 the day the PTR went live.
I was JUST about to say the same thing. Logged on to the PTR just now and remembered that a couple days ago I saw that WW fury cost 10 instead of 9, and also remembered my wiz buddy was bummed because his RoF was lower then what the patch notes had said.
I think the drop rates we are seeing now on the PTR ARE the doubled drop rates.
When I was talking about the gap I was reffering to the fact that if more legenderies drop, actual good items might drop for other people aswell instead of only to guys who have lots of drops (e.g. streamers ) and have a good sample size so its natural that some of it is godly.
I mean yea something worth 100mil might be 5 some other time, but the godly items will always be pricey. A inna's radiance with double resist and 5.5-6 crit + decent vit will always sell for a lot, because its rare. And even if more people get it doesnt mean it will drop in price because the value of it will still be high as it has way too good stats to ever be something cheap.
I never complain about loot because I realise you have to put the time in it, and I have put decent time in.But atm with legenderies being so good , peope are more inclined to buy them rather then yellows. And its easier to sell a 50+ mil legendary/set than a 50mil yellow atm. ( unless the yellow is just fantastic which is a bit more rare atm ).

I'm pretty negatively inclined towards these kind of game changers for two reasons, one is that I'm an economic whore and something like this has the potential to massively devalue my current gear set. So do I clean house before the patch then regear at a later date when the economy has resettled with the new drops rates? But noooooo my precious! Two is that I feel hijacked until 1.0.5 comes out. Why am I playing now when I could wait 1-2 weeks and everything will be so much shinier. Or maybe 3 weeks? God forbid I might have to do useful things with my life for a while.
Great! Now I will be getting them after every 25 hours instead of 50 hours of gameplay! I can't wait to play 24/7! Amazing!
every 25 hours? Are you idling in town half the time? Even with almost zero MF, 33 paragon and 5 stacks i'm finding one an average of 5 hours of gameplay. Which of course is still a ridiculous amount of time.
I'd also like to add a point of speculation that this doubling is probably of the base chance, meaning with a lot of MF it's going to more than double the final drop rate.
Will Leorics Signet be much easier to grind now? Monster Power 10 in Normal Act 2, double chance for legendaries to drop as well as 400% MF?
Shhh, don't give people ideas
They are raising the MF cap in 1.05?
in 105 every level of monster power from 1 up adds another 25% to your mf. So at level 10 it's another 200% making the cap 675%. Of course MP 10 is NOT the best way to farm, but still being at MP 4-5 means as long as you're capped on the max 375% from yourself and your follower, you'll be around 475% - 500%.
What data? there are hardly any changes to legendary items on PTR if any, there is no reason for this change testing wise...
...other than testing the impact such a change would have? Remember, this is the PTR. What happens in the PTR, stays in the PTR. This is the only way they can tinker with legendary drop rates and see what the possible consequences would be. Should it fail miserably, they can just set the rates back to pre-PTR and it never happened. We are the guinea pigs of the Diabloverse
And yes, A LOT of people have been asking to increase drop rates on legendaries for a long time now.
Hardcore elitist-type gamers probably won't like this.
You'll definitely see tons of threads on the official forums with ignorant comments like "eff you Blizz, now everyone gets whatever they want and the set that I dropped isn't worth 200 mil, it's worth 5 mil - game's so easy even my grandma can play it".
For everyone else? That's fucking amazing and I'll start seeing some legendaries/sets (and plans) on my own, without resorting to the AH. Worst case scenario it's not a noticeable change and they'll have to double it another 2-3 times for us to notice
What u r worry about may be probably happen when patch launching, as I c the current drop rate is extremely low, and double it may not be very helpful to make we feel the legendaries are more than before. In fact I believe that when the rate that you may get a thing is low enough, then how many the items you actually got is out of the business of how much the rate is, but is the luck issue...who complained that they do not get legendary may go on their complain, it wont change much

Which is exactly how it should be.

Seriously? 16 posts before this? I was expecting this in post #2.
it just blizzard giving in to QQ.
And then we added 10 levels on top of that
Because our testers suck at this game.
