I am excited just for the fact that we are almost guaranteed a good item from a boss that we kill. I know there are a lot of bad legendary's out there, but having one automatically drop from a mob? That gives me something to grind for and group with friends for.
I wonder if "getting the pieces for the IM" mean you have to get them in ONE game and if you log out you lose those pieces. I would hope it's not like that, but who knows...I have seen weird Blizzard rules on certain in-game events.
this is just like the uber bosses in d2 if they have a torch like item im gonna laugh way to be original guys
People beg for D3 to turn into D2, so Blizzard proceeds to add a way of introducing something to bring back an old feature like ubers, long grinds, player8, and then people complain that they lack originality. I swear, Blizzard could just never do enough to make people happy.
(P.S. - Hooba, I know you didn't say all that, but I summed up a few things tagging from your post)
Snuh, I was hoping the infernal machine thing would grant something new like a new socketable. Unity is marginally better than the set rings.
Having said that, every once in a while something pops up in d3 that is an improvement on d2. Monster power looks to be one of those things (essentially integrating /players 8 into multiplayer, but allowing it to work in coop). I wonder if it is specifically improving mf bonus from nv or actually improving drop rates?

You guys are much more optimistic than me. From the way that I read it, the IM and the ring are just like the Staff of Herding. Farm the same mobs over and over for pieces, which lets you create a staff with one purpose. Sounds to me like the ring is the same thing... farming for pieces to create a ring that has one purpose... making a few select bosses available.
I believe the ring is the reward for killing whatever it is we will need to kill. If you check out the item game guide on diablo forums, there's a "unity ring" listed that has so far not dropped (afaik).
do you think mf gear will drop large in value with 1.0.5? time to sell?
there is even a chance increasing the difficulty is going to be more attractive than having mf. because mf doesnt change lvl 60+ droprates in act 1, but probably the increasing difficulty will (because its not going to be attractive if not).

Just curious .. where did you get this from?
It doesn't?
I think your mistake is not realizing that certain aspects of WoW were taken from D2. Making sense to you yet?
