So my first week playing these game was extraordinary. I was having a blast leveling my character and using the AH. It was all fun and fresh until I hit a brick wall: Inferno. I thought no big deal, I'll grind act 1 for gear (LOL) and eventually gear up to be able to take act 2. I got to act 2 eventually but it just seemed like I would have to farm gold if i wanted to get past the area, which I didn't want to do. Now that 1.04 is out, I am actually finding enough rewarding items to progress through the game. I've actually found an upgrade this last week, which never happened before. All my old gear was from the GAH, none of it found. Also, the weapons are dropping much better DPS than before (even though lvl63 weps with 300DPS make no sense). Regardless of what they changed in 1.04, the point is that I'm addictively grinding. I'm playing several hours a day and enjoying every second of it.
I know a lot of people are still complaining about key elements (drop rate, which I do agree on BTW), but I'm still having fun. I do hope they change some things and add some new stuff in, but for now, I am happy to call this game Diablo 3.
Yeah I do find it problematic that Act 3 is the only act worth farming. Can't wait to see what they have in store for 1.1 though.
If you are still progressing to Act 3, you will find upgrades and it will be worthwhile. If you are already geared decently and farming Act 3, it's not very rewarding. I don't think it's so much the drop rate as the rolls of those drops. Meaning I get plently of ilvl 63's and even a few legendary items sprinkled in once in a while, but they never roll even mediocre. I actually scrapped the last legendary that dropped for brimstone. The game needs more item diversity to make the time spent farming worthwhile, as of now it's kind of like playing the lottery with your time as the cost

I don't complain much but act 1 and 2 are just waaaay too easy now. I know new players enjoy the lack of extreme difficulty, but there is too wide of a disparity in acts. I would like to see acts 1 & 2 become more challenging and have a better drop proportion accordingly.
I would like to see new types of items introduced, something similar to jewels, runes etc for socketing purposes and perhaps something akin to the Annihilus/Torch charms.
A "balls-out" uber hard difficulty area is also going to be needed. Something with crazy boss fights and multiple packs of elites.
That being said, 1.04 was a HUGE step forward and I'm excited to see what the future holds for the franchise. Can't wait for PvP.
Hunting for legendaries in 1.04 in act 3... is way too addicting. I need to be studying damn it! The nice rare you get once in awhile is also pretty neat ^^ And paragon levels just add more to it
I agree that a "A "balls-out" uber hard difficulty area" should be added, although not sure how they'd balance rewards, perhaps farming act 3 for some sort of key/s (which is used upon entry) to gain access to the area (Similar to D3 pandemonium events I believe?). That way we can look forward to some increased drops in the new area but not ignore the rest of the game
Personally i'm on the fence. It's good and all, but it's not a blast to play D3.
Mainly because Act 3 enforces a very, very tanky build on you. Unless you are ranged.
Play a ww tornado barb it will fix the problem .
I was about to say this. I didn't know that 250 resists and a 2h build was tanky! As for the OP, this patch has made it fun to play all my characters, not just my barb. I gotta say, Trail of Cinders for DH's is the most op shit I've ever seen. Champ packs and bosses are all dying from 1 globe of discipline, it's sick. My barb may rarely ever die, but he never melts things in just a couple seconds from tornado sprinting.
Ive been having fun straight through. The patch just made it better. Then again I only have about 300 hrs across 3 toons. All the upgrades Ive found since patch were on the first day

I guess Blizzard did their job then. Now the wait for 1.1 PvP begins...
