This has probably already been talked about but I couldn't find anything since 1.4 dev blog announcement about MF sharing removal.
Seriously, we all agree that MF in co-op is only bringing problems (probably more with the removal of it being shared) so why not just remove it and replace it with an extended Nephalem Buff stacking for exemple. This would really promotes playing co-op.
And I would even don't mind about it being removed in the whole game, if in the other hand they raise the drop chances or extend Nephalem Buff stack possibilities by at least 5 or 10 (and still more in co-op, why not up to act stacking NB).
Maybe I'm totally wrong too, I'm not a very hardcore player (about 200 hours played since launch) so I might be missing something.
Quit bringing up logical suggestions. They have already been disapproved by Blizzard.
I must admit their attitude towards us is pathetic recently: "yo, we've been hacked, but don't worry we're giving you a dev blog to make you forget it"
I think gear-based MF is a Zen Riddle. There is no correct answer.
The basic idea of increased risk and increased reward is somewhat undone by things like NV's 5-stack guaranteed rare, player-specific loot drops and the steep difficultly curve vs. shallow loot curve in Inferno.
What Blizzard should have done (and maybe they still will) is have a full-blown game browser and allow players to configure their sessions, switching on PKing, allowing players to choose how many others they want in their game, and in the case of MF allowing players to crank up a Difficulty+MF slider the bakes the MF-based risk/reward behaviour directly into the session itself, rather than attaching it to gear.
With gear swapping enabled there is no more risk in going MF or not right now. Just more annoying.
They're going to be changing that.
Also, you're exaggerating the effect of MF gear in co-op. You won't feel much of a difference if the person that joins you has a lot of MF gear on or just has bad gear because he's only recently started farming that act. Not all teammates are good, that's just life.
