I've been playing this game with much love and I feel the game lacks finesse with some of its systems. The Kill Streak system is one of them. At early levels it felt awesome to kill a whole bunch of monsters at the same time, while also getting a small bonus. However, the bonus is gone and the kill streaks mean nothing more than an already saturated feeling and a pixel display of your score. Why stop there? Its Diablo, its a loot game.. So heres a very straight forward idea;
Kill Streaks add a temporary magic find boost!
Example:
Kill Streak 100!
Adds 50(or X) MF for 2(or X) Minutes
-Cap of maximum bonus
-Relavitly easy to add to the game
-New meta (end)game
-Incentive to clear trash over skipping to elite groups = play more of the game = find more spots to grind other than Act 3 all the way to Azmodan.
+++ Other streak bonusses could add something small to the game as well Massive Blow: After attaining a massive blow of X, the next mob you kill will explode with a bunch of treasure and gold Surviviour: Comments? Savior: Comments? Demolist: Comments?

The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t...
Good idea. Speaking of sweeping wind, the MF buff could work the same way as the sweeping wind timer, where it is relatively short, but refreshes with each hit on a monster. Every kill could raise MF boost by .5 percent or a smaller number. Just as an example.
Maybe this doesn't have to be a thing available to everyone, but rather an affix for gear, or something similar.
For those who voted; not so awesome. Care to elaborate? And if so, could you see / want any other improvements to the kill streaks?
And, yeah numbers need to be tweaked around to make balanced / fun
The Sweeping Wind kind of mechanic would defenetly fit the Diablo style, but may favor some classes a lot more than others.

The problem with kill streaks in a game such as this is that it gives too much penalty for non-consecutive play. In other words, to keep that streak going, you need to remain bunkered down and find that next pack of trash quickly.
There are some styles of play that can be hazardous to health when maintained too long. As a best example, my index finger can start to go numb at some periods playing my barbarian, since he only really has two attacks. Now, I suppose the counter to this is simply to relocate those buttons to the keyboard, but even then that just shifts the problem from your mouse hand to your keyboard hand.
I think that this is a solution looking for a problem more than anything.
The last thing we need is for players to feel as if they need to go get a 50+ kill streak before they kill that rare/champion. We need as few breaks in gameplay as possible. People would farm the shit out of Leoric's Manor even more than they currently do because it's a pretty easy 30+ kill streak and usually 1, sometimes 2, rare/champion packs.
Everyone would farm Act 1 and 2 Inferno, as the MF with Neph Valor would be ridiculous. Unless you're a self sustaining barb, you really can't clear Act 3 without dying once in a while.
instead of giving MF they should just give us a gold bonus multiplier or something.
I feel like this would be way more profitable.
Yes, that would be a better solution, and I completely agree with the OP that some small reward like a gold find boost should be received upon completing a killstreak of certain magnitude at level 60.

"Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the small death that brings total obliteration."
Unfortunately, this would just keep people farming lower end content... exactly like is happening now. It would be much easier to get these bonuses in Act 1 than it would be in Act 3.

Double Kill!!1
Multi Kill!!!
MEGA KILL
ULTRA KILL

Obviously would need some smoothing out numbers-wise, but I like the idea a lot ^^

Again, great idea!

This was going to be the reason for my "Yes, but...". Like the XP bonus, the new bonus should be instantaneous, like a gold reward.

isn't that what blizzard wants us to do anyway??
