Diablo 3 launch people had problems with achievements, logging in, creating games and with just about everything. No other game ever had a bad launch like this. Blizzard used to have a good reputation, but it's been crusched. It wasn't just the first night, but lasted for weeks. Authoritets in different countries are looking into investigating all these downtime Blizzard is having.
WoW had a far worse launch than D3, for the record - the game had downtime that makes D3s mild downtime pale in comparison. This absolute retardation about "no other game ever had a bad launch like this" is complete hyperbole. Not only is it entirely subjective as to what constitutes a "bad launch" but there is no way you can convince me that in the history of gaming that no game has ever had a worse out-of-the-box experience than D3.
In fact, I believe that game was released in pre-alpha state just so the people making it could make a few bucks. So, yeah, I call bullshit when people come out and say absolutely retarded stuff like that. D3s launch was not seamless, but who cares? Exaggerating it to the "worst of all time" is ridiculous and shows how blindly you want to hate, hate, hate.
Lol, any1 still believes in those tales about hacking AH?
Hex editing client files has worked since launch. You just have to know where to look, which is what has been exposed lately. How do you think there were stores of hundreds of mils of gold being available from third party sites less than a few days after launch? Hint: it wasn't bots.
OP so you are totally againt it, and wanna inform people that such things exist. You did even pay some cheater to show you that its is real. Yet you didnt fucking record it so you can show it to us, not to mention Blizzard?
The fuck? You call that 'investigation journalism skills'? If you're not lying, then you did poor and amateur job.
As for what they have to gain? I paid $50 for them to show me proof that it was working, but without sharing the method. They gain 'internet notoriety' which a lot of them crave, as well as a little bit of cash (not that they were particularly strapped for that). I gained a story. Win/Win.
It's obvious to me you have no idea what you are talking about and just being nosey.
You are playing with fire, watch what you say on a public forum especially about EH/BH.
The people you are talking about are not scrippies or phytes.
I suggest this thread is locked and the OP removes his article.
sincerely,
Grey.
Kid I've been with hackers since I was 8, my uncle was one until he got one of those rare times where someone hacks something so well and proper that the company offers him a job. A job he still has, for quite a large company. Most of the people in both those places are not hackers, and a majority of those I spoke to had just learned the method from the grapevine... which is exactly the same as being a scrippie, as you know. The notoriety comment was aimed at them, not at developers, who normally don't give a flying crap about being in the spotlight, and usually prefer life outside of it.
But a script kiddie? They thrive on crap like that, and that's what I rolled the dice with, and that's what I got.
EDIT: Have added the full article in a quote box to the front post.

No it actually was bots. They were around in beta as well as on release day.
All of these hex editing and session spoofing reports are complete bull. All we have are people lying trying to get page hits on their site like the op. If such a thing did exist Blizzard would have shut the servers down by now, which is what they did in Asia. Or we'd see at least one small piece of proof.
People, it's time to stop believing in the absurd and use some common sense.

You haven't the foggiest clue what Journalism is.
It's been in development since 2001 in one shape or form.
Ha. Bagstone.
