only about 130hrs spread out between 4 of the 5 classes, and bored. i like the game but waiting for MAJOR fixes to this game before i return, other than that college classes on the way to keep me busy.
400hr on monk. Finished inferno pre-patched. I hate this random style. It really does emphasize a WASTE of time. If you enjoy wasting time n getting nothing out of it then Diablo 3 is for you. If you like endless pointless grinding and that is fun for you then diablo 3 is for you.
Contemplating selling all for real usd n calling it.
I'm around 400 hours atm, and i keep finding the game somewhat entertaining.
This might be contributed by me swapping playstyle all the time, switching from sword and board, to DW, and playing my wizard both as ranged and as a tank.
Changing up the game, and blizzard intended it to be, having your own fun :).

I'm getting quite sick of it after I beat inferno. The game clearly needs some more endgame. I've played many other games 200h+, and I still enjoy them.
it's quite hard to find AAA games right now that can give you more than 60+hrs of game play for $60. So i say that my $60 was well spent on D3 since i already posted 140+ hrs
200 Hours in Beta followed by 350 hours in Retail and the game is so broken its forced me to not enjoy the game, I want to so badly, but its so broken in its current state im leaving it be until shit is fixed.

Thank you for providing such detailed examination of what you deem to be so badly broken it's not worth playing. I can definitely see your point.

You go to blindly ignore reasoned/structured posts and hate on people who express dislike for the game. No surprise people would call this kind of behavior "fanboism".
There's quite a significant difference in expressing dislike for something and engaging in blatant hyperbole for which you provide absolutely no detail to back that claim up.
You wouldn't know "fanboi-ism" if it slapped you in the face. I'm a fanboi of common sense and intelligent rhetoric, not frothing at the mouth and licking windows while generalizing hate at something you can't even begin to describe.
Thanks for the attempt to clear things up, though.
Much like you did your self by just bashing the person with sarcasm, instead of just accepting that it is his opinion. Seems very unreasonable to waste breath on the non-constructive instead of actually facing a discussion of some kind.
Stop trying to compare my post to his, you're comparing apples to giraffes.
Where did I ever say he wasn't entitled to that opinion? No, see, my point was that his opinion was actually encroaching on a claim of fact, rather than simply saying "I dislike this game."
For the final time, since I'm going to take your signature as true and assume you're just being dense: saying something is broken is not the same as saying "I don't like this." Huge difference. Black and white. Are you getting it yet?

You invalidated his entire opinion by just raining sarcasm on him the very moment he opened his mouth - And yet you try to troll me with that i would be dense, when you lack the insight to admit that you are either trolling/Just failing to realize what you actually did to someone posting.
And my signature just reflects to the fact that i do not take you seriously, seeing how you are 50% troll and 50% just plain shallow.
Quite fluently actually - You are currently just being stubborn about not realizing what you actually did, by your action - Regardless of what your intent was, regardless of what your claim was or regardless of what fruit was compared to what.
I guess I should have edited it to read "do you comprehend it," because it's quite apparent you do not.
Continue in your misunderstanding of what an opinion actually is, and what it represents. The rest of us will get a hearty chuckle at your misappropriation of colloquial terminology in what should be an intelligent discussion.
The end.
PS: you should get rid of that signature - you look silly.
Well, an intelligent discussion would require that you a) Drop the hate, Come to terms with what you actually do and don't dodge it with semantics and C) stop mocking/trolling/being butthurt resorting to insults. As far as rest goes - Imagination is the only tool we have to battle reality. I'll let you dwell on that in contrast to what you are doing here.
To be fair, the statement "I quit because the game is so broken" is actually passing opinion off as fact.
To rewrite that as opinion one would say "I quit because the game feels broken to me."
If I say "my car is broken" that is a statement of fact. It is a fine line, but it's a distinction nonetheless. It's common nowadays to take one's opinion and make statements like that which actually imply hard fact. That doesn't make it proper communication though any more than it makes the word "hizzy" appear in the Oxford English Dictionary.

Oh now you've done it. You'll be labeled as a hater in no time.
In no way am I saying this game isn't worth 60$. I got a good 170 fun hours of play out of it--well worth 60$! What I will say, and maybe some of you will agree to this, but this game did not live up to the expectations for a Diablo franchise entry. Diablo II had, in my estimation ~6 years of replay valuable. Diablo III, in its current form, has maybe a few months of reply value?
Well said, Op. I am over 220+ hours myself and play not nearly as often as before
I'll put it this way. Did I get my money's worth from Diablo? Yeah I guess, it's better then a lot of games out there.
But...
a) Is it what I expected? No not at all.
Is it a good game? It's a decent game, better then most but definitely in a pool of mediocrity.
c) Do I want to keep playing it? No not at all, why? Because of no end game? Maybe, I think more so that there's really nothing that stands out in the game. It's like every other game of the series with a few of its own unique quirks. Yet it has a childish retconned story, annoying end-game play. A not-so-interesting or fun F2P system. Even the leveling isn't even really that fun, too many restrictions not enough freedom in this game. So, mediocre.
d) Could they have done better? I expected so, but I guess from their recent history I should've expected this.
I can't even load the game up anymore. I tried about a week ago or so, I got to the character selection screen and just closed it. I look at these patch notes and they're the furthest thing from interesting now. Bleh...
180h and bored by this auction house simulator..... My barbarian is immortal, just plain OP! Waiting for new and exciting content or deleting the game from HD!
Incidentally all these "D2 lasted 11 years" arguments are kind of ridiculous. I remember playing D2 for 3 years plus? Wasn't really counting. And in that time absolutely everyone I knew who played it stopped, I made new friends then they stopped, then I made new friends... VERY few people actually played it for anything remotely like 11 years. And logging in every now and then to refresh your toons or go on a couple of Baal runs before getting bored and leaving again doesn't count.
D2 didn't "last" 11 years for the vast majority of players. People came and went in that time, the only thing you can accurately say is that Blizzard kept the servers running for 11 years. And remember this isn't an MMO, it's free to play - hell I still boot up TIE Fighter when the mood strikes me, so did that game "last" 18 years?
I've played +250 hours, and I still play pretty often.
However... I can't stand the "end game". It's so tedious and aggravating <_<
I feel like all of my level 60 characters spend more money on repairs than they gain from all of the crappy drops,
and I rarely ever die! (I'm farming act 2 inferno, progressing through act 3 slowly)
I've just been making new characters on Hardcore, to keep myself entertained.
So, unfortunately Blizzard can't normalize the difficulty for every individual where they don't feel its too easy but difficult enough for it to be satisfying when you do beat it. Also since 2 weeks ago, tanking doesn't cost you anything if u're not dying. They removed durability the retarded durability lost in tanking.
This poster is the prototypical hater I've seen, they haven't beaten the game, they also spent alot of time on it, yes 200+ hours in 2 months is a lot, considering 160 hours is a full time job per month and they are still bad at the game.
Well that happens we can't satisfy everyone, make it too easy everyone finishes and people complain its too hard, make it hard, people complain its too hard, and no matter how hard you make it, there would be those pro gamers that will still destroy all the content.
As for people that say there aren't many viable builds, well they just haven't looked. There are many different builds that works best for each boss, whether u're soloing or group play. Different acts works best with different builds, different difficulty level as well, what works in Hell might not work in Inferno, etc.
People also forget that not only do they need to be good actually physically playing the game, if you're not spending your gold wisely and wisely putting things up in AH, you're not maximizing the game. Sure there are people that don't like this aspect, but its part of the game, part of what you signed up for.
Excuse me, but how am I a hater? I still enjoy the game greatly. I'm just saying the endgame is a flop... I'm sorry that I want the fun to continue after I have completed a game. Thank god they fixed repairs because it broke the end game entirely for me, and I hadn't attempted to play my main characters for a while. I have now completed inferno.
My biggest problem with the game right now is that Blizzard is doing a really great job at punishing everyone for the actions of a few... I don't manipulate the AH, or use the RMAH, or switch to 400 magic find gear before a kill, or abuse any game systems; I just play the game. But because of that I always feel like I'm getting the "short end of the stick," particularly in inferno. I feel like many other players can relate to that as well.
It's a problem when I have more fun making new characters than playing my main characters; and it's because farming on a lvl 60, for the average player, feels like a total waste of time. I would rather feel like I'm actually GOING SOMEWHERE when I'm playing (and grab some items and gold on the side).
I don't know how they could make the end-game more appealing, but it definitely isn't doing it for me as it is right now.
